I know I’m late, but they always Use Carry On my Wayward Son for each season finale (it’s the fandom anthem).. and usually use music for the premiere episode and midseason finale episode.

2022-09-02 19:22:20 +0000 UTCYou just called Jake "Soldier Boy" cuz you forgot his name and my heart SKIPPED A COUPLE OF HUNDRED BEATS cuz of Jensen's new upcoming role in The Boys.

2021-04-16 15:05:27 +0000 UTCYeah, I'm sure you know by now but NEVER skip the recaps for an SPN season finale. Carry On is our fandom theme.

2021-04-16 13:28:20 +0000 UTCDefinitely don't watch the recaps except at the season finale. They will give away the monster of the week or a recurring character in regular episodes, but at the end of the season it's a special version and you get some Kansas.

2019-07-06 02:28:34 +0000 UTCRemember in "Roadkill" they got the ghost lady who didn't know she was a ghost to 'let go' and move on. But they admitted they didn't know where spirits at rest (and not consigned to Hell) went. I assume John Winchester and their Mom went to wherever those spirits go once they feel their work here is done. Same with all other ghosts Sam and Dean put to rest by salting and burning their corpses.

2019-07-06 01:55:27 +0000 UTCOh, forgot to say - a crossroads demon may take any host, so in theory you could have the same one returning or a different one every time. It's also not necessarily one demon - there could be several. We don't really know. Normally, they take someone attractive to make 'sales' easier.

2019-07-05 21:56:38 +0000 UTCEnjoy the gag reel, they are very enjoyable every season & even the cast have asked that a 2 hour gag reel be put together as they have more than enough footage as this cast & crew like to enjoy their time on set. As for the episode still one of my favourites & Jensen’s acting is awesome, he certainly tops the emotional and comedic scenes but over the years they’ve learnt from each other & as others have said Jared has come a long way as you’ll see in future seasons. Fred Lehne is a great yellow eyes & over the seasons they have some superb actors grace various episodes, either as regulars or guest stars who’ve got a lot to look forward to.

2019-07-05 20:35:21 +0000 UTCHope you got some rest man! To answer your question, I’m a person of faith, so when I watched John dissolve away, I assumed he’d gone to heaven (of course, the Supernatural universe hasn’t mentioned having a heaven, so who knows). FUN FACT: Jeff and Jensen (Dean) were on the same set filming together, but Jared had to do his bit with the three of them saying goodbye to green screens and tennis balls for eyelines. I think Jared’s acting ability has improved dramatically over the seasons, but so has Jensen’s, so to my mind, no, Jared doesn’t surpass Jensen in the acting chops department, but he certainly becomes an even better actor than he is at this point. I certainly realize that others may have a different opinion, but that is mine. || Don’t you get put in jail for deserting, esp in a war zone? I’ve always assumed that would have played a part in Jake’s decision making as well as his family, and the temptation of a life on easy street. Another FUN FACT: Aldis Hodge (Jake, the soldier) was very young when he shot these episodes. He has said that Jared and Jensen took him out for his first ‘legal’ drink. || “Is there a gag reel for this season?” LOL 😂There is ALWAYS a gag reel Stephen.

2019-07-05 19:17:52 +0000 UTCThe thing about demons in this show is that yes it may be THE SAME demon like the Crossroads Demon being the same one, but the host is different. They can jump from body to body, when they're summoned they appear in the body they've taken control of at that moment. Basically don't get used to certain actresses/actors for certain demons.

2019-07-05 19:14:48 +0000 UTCCarry On My Wayward Son is the unofficial hymn to the show. Check out Jensen's appearance on this convention here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wgnGfjXK0Y

2019-07-05 14:59:03 +0000 UTCAll season finales, not some. The only exception is Season 1, where Wayward Son was used in the penultimate episode and another song in the finale

2019-07-05 14:06:09 +0000 UTCThere is usually great music in premiers and of course the finale. Usually in the mid season premiers and finales too. Personally I like the recaps. After 14 Seasons of "THEN" and "NOW" there are many times when they show you something in the recap and it seems spoilery but I've never had anything really spoiled by them. It's just a part of the show to me. I also think Jared is a very good actor and doesn't nearly get the credit he deserves. But Jensen is a great actor and his character carries so much of the emotional weight is seasons 1 and 2 it seems he's better by comparison.

2019-07-05 12:17:18 +0000 UTCI just rewatched it since I was reminded of it and Jared really broke my heart again, even years later and knowing what was coming.

2019-07-05 12:15:07 +0000 UTCAlso Carry On always plays in the finale, but I think most if not all of the premieres has a song as well. This one changes each year though. Otherwise you’re better of skipping the recaps cause they’re just spoilery, but without the cool music.

2019-07-05 11:56:21 +0000 UTCThere is one particular scene of Jared’s that will always stand out as the highlight of the entire series for me when it comes to acting. Jensen has these big scenes more often, but Jared has a really good one that still gives me chills.

2019-07-05 09:15:54 +0000 UTCThanks Heidi. That could have been it. This used to happen to me a lot, so I started saving my comments just in case.

2019-07-05 09:06:34 +0000 UTCI think the comments disappear if you have to edit what you've written more than once after you've already posted it. At least that's what I've discovered. So... when you write your comments, edit them carefully before you even post it and hopefully it should stay here. I hope this helps. :)

2019-07-05 09:01:22 +0000 UTCMy comment just won't stay put on here. Too long probably? Here it is - again. Edited version. Here's a link to season 2 spoilers that's safe. https://youtu.be/T_J1M1w8UQw Yay! So glad you were able to get everything sorted and gets this episode out tonight. I stayed up past bed time once I saw it was posted. I couldn't wait! Yes. Jensen is an amazing actor. That's his name. Jensen Ackles. lol The other actor is Jared Padalecki. His One Perfect Tear (OPT) is legendary. I think I'll leave it for you to discover yourself about Jared. John's spirit came back. He may have gone to Heaven. The mom should also be in Heaven. Hoping. I LOVED how Yellow Eyes was killed. That was pretty freakin' cool to me. I think it's awesome that they kill off Yellow Eyes in this finale. Much better than other shows that drag it out forever. I like that there was a finality to something. I watched this show in real time, and it was crazy when Sam was killed. Then when the last episode started and we saw that it was really real - that was harsh. And Dean giving his speech was also hard. Then the realization came when I saw him at the crossroads. So, season 3, if you haven't heard, is short. Only 16 episodes. There was a writer's strike that year and it affected every show back then. Some didn't survive it. It definitely affected Supernatural. Be careful of spoilers. The season is good, but the writer's strike really affected what they could do. Almost any problem with the show is due to the writer's strike. That's all I'll say. I'm sure you will hear loads about it. Thanks so much for your honesty in your reactions and ratings. I may not always agree, but I much more prefer that over telling us you loved something you really didn't.
Michele
2019-07-05 08:56:09 +0000 UTCI feel that Jared does get better but nobody can surpass Jensen at the big emotional scenes. Without being too spoilery, I do think there are some areas that Jared does better than Jensen.

2019-07-05 08:50:43 +0000 UTCI love this episode and what an epic season finale!!! Thank you so much for your reaction! Both episodes definitely should be rated together, and as a whole, I would rate it as a 10 because like I said before... season two and this finale is my favorite of them all. First... Jensen Ackles is the actor who plays Dean and he really is amazing. The level emotion he shows every time is incredible. Sam is played by Jared Padalecki and while I really love Sam, you're right that Jared's acting is not quite at the same level as Jensen's, but Sam definitely improves. And Fredric Lehne plays Yellow Eyes phenomenally well. He's an amazing villain and while his death was incredible, with seeing Jeffrey Dean Morgan return to protect his sons and to distract Yellow Eyes long enough to allow for Dean to grab the colt so he can kill the demon. I though this entire scene was amazing and so well acted between Sam, Dean, John, and Yellow Eyes. Also, the end moment with Sam and Dean, as Dean opens the trunk of his car... it's a direct parallel to the Pilot episode when Sam opens the trunk in the end saying the same exact line... "We've got work to do." Brilliant. As for the Cross Roads Demon being played by a different actress... it's because Dean save the first girl's life by forcing the demon to leave her body. That's why it's a different actress... because the demon took over another poor girl's body. The first actress was better, but I really liked her too, and I loved that she was brought back for Dean to make a deal with so Dean could save Sam. Thank you so much! Now... all Hell has broken loose and hundreds of demons are free throughout the world. Sam, Dean, Bobby, and Ellen most definitely have a job to do. :) Until next time...

2019-07-05 08:47:02 +0000 UTCAll of the season finales have one big recap of the entire season while playing this song, Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas. Only the season finales. It's an epic way to remind us of all that's happened throughout the season and I love it!!!

2019-07-05 07:48:51 +0000 UTCSeason Finales often have the big time music. Young-me fully associated "Carry On My Wayward Son" with an epic epic upcoming Supernatural episode. But yes it will happen at times.
