I think this season needs to be put in perspective because of the writers strike. This year did a number on a lot of shows and SPN managed to make a great season given circumstances outside of it's control. I do wish the seven deadly sins remained for a couple of more episodes but I understand the creative decision. They had to fit a ton of story into a shorter season and I feel if it was the standard 22 episode season they would have fleshed out the seven deadly sins a bit more.

2019-07-13 20:23:06 +0000 UTCEveryone else has said most of what I'd say, so this will be shorter. I think the reason Dean is acting like this is because he actually feels relieved - in a weird way. My head canon is that he has always felt bad about himself, so he likely figured he'd be going to Hell anyway. And knowing he has one year left is weirdly relieving. And end in sight. He can get relief from the guilt over his life coming at the cost of others. First started in season 1 in the episode Faith. That likely has always bothered him. Then his father. And an end in sight from his life, which can suck. He's being unrealistic and in big denial. Doubtful he'd really want to go to Hell, and is likely not even really letting it sink in what he's done. Guess we'll have to see.

We know, from past episodes like when we saw them as children that John would leave them alone for days at a stretch (if not weeks). We saw Dean go without food, or at least give up the food he’d wanted, for Sam. I’ve always believed that Dean eats the way he does because he grew up not being sure of where or when his next meal was coming from. He made sure Sam didn’t have that experience, thus Sam’s relationship with food is much healthier. As I said, it’s just my own head-canon, so I could be totally off - I do think that he also just enjoys food (and women), plus I think the writers just think it’s kinda funny. || Sorry about the bloopers, that must have been a bit frustrating! As you said, season 2’s reel is funnier, I think you can really see the cast and crew getting closer and becoming a family as the gag reels go from year to year. || Supernatural was one of Katie Cassidy’s first roles (she went on to do Arrow several years later. I know that you saw her on Arrow first, so she’ll probably always be Laurel to you though 😜) You probably already know this, but I didn’t until someone told me. She is David Cassidy’s daughter. 2019-07-09 16:21:55 +0000 UTCShame about the bloopers - my vote would be for you not to do them again. I think 8 is a pretty fair mark for this episode. It's a shame they got rid of the sins so easily - it made them come across as pretty weak and not as much of a threat as they were trying to talk them up to be. I felt it would have been more fun to stretch the sins out for a few episodes. But that isn't the way it went. (BTW it's sloth that killed the family). And I'm pretty sure greed went into Isaac
