The "niednagel" is a salute to the show's special-effects person, David Niednagel, who creates impossible supernatural effects every week. The "chicken sandwich that, if you eat it, it means you hate gay people" of course refers to Chick-Fil-A. I love how the passing reference to IHOP back in season 2 (when the four were about to go undercover in the Bad Place on their way to the Judge) turns into a full-scale visit here. These writers are so smart.
