Depending on the adoption you do, their are different kinds, the original parents can get a court order to request a Dna test. I know their is one type of adoption were they can't do it, and another were they can't. Now if Clark was 18, they wouldn't be able to do it without his consent. In this case he isn't 18, so the court can request a dna test. However I think the Kents could have refused the dna test but then they would have to get a lawyer which costs a lot of money, and the Kents are poor.

Funny thing is, Kristin Kreuk is of French-Chinese descent and now her character has three parents, none of them are even remotely Chinese. ;-)

This was an amazing episode. I felt so bad for poor Johnathan. He's such a great person, he didn't deserve what Lionel did to him. John Schneider's acting was incredible in this episode. I've loved him in every thing he's ever acted in. I just love how everyone's emotions are just an absolute mess in this episode. Everybody was with the feels in it! It also goes to show that there is no such thing as a perfect family. However, even though that family is a little messed up, they still love each other and that's all that really matters. Season 2 is my favorite Smallville season. There were a ton of solid 8,9, and 10s in this season. Can't wait for the next episode!

Completely agree about Henry, everyone reacts in a different way.

What I loved about this episode is that we got to understand why Pete Ross and Jonathan Kevn have an issues with the Luthors. When it comes to Chloe, I completely agree with you, she completely pryed into Clark's personal life when she told him she would not. In a way Chloe is a bit like Lex with not being able to stop prying into Clark's life. Lex is obsessed with what happened on the bridge when he hit Clark with his car. Chloe is just very curious of Clark that she does her own side investigations that she can't quite give up on. When it comes to Henry's reaction, the man who is possibility Lana's biological father, I sort of understood him and it's all about timing. It seems he had a very disappointing phone conversation and then it seems he has a relationship or a life I guess with another family or girlfriend or wife and this random girl comes out the blue and announces that she is his daughter. His reaction makes sense if he never assumed he had a daughter. That would've taken anyone completely off guard so it's tough to know how anyone would react in that situation but I did like that by the end of the episode when he had a clear state of mind, he told Lana he was willing to find out if they are related.

Poor Pete. Just using this kid. Didn't even tell him what the plan was.

I'm really glad you liked this episode, Steven. This is by far one of my favorite episodes in the entire series. This episode lays the groundwork for character arcs and storylines that will continue throughout the show's run. This is why it feels like everyone got a little backstory this episode, it's the first real setup episode that will drive the series moving forward.
