I don't see how they have a warrant to look for Ryan after they denied having him in the first place. Doesn't that sound weird??

Don't get me wrong, there are sadder ones where your heartstrings will be pushed to the limit but this episode is still top 10 saddest episodes. Regarding the Lex going bad thing, there is plenty of foreshadowing in this episode but one line stuck with me which I think you missed. Its: "The road to darkness is a journey, not a light switch". So like Ryan said, remember that when looking at Lex's character.

This episode gave me so much emotions when I first watched it that it engraved itself in my memory. Ryan became one of my favorite characters in Smallville even he was only there 2 times.
