So Basically it’s the same as guest star just the person is usually more famous. Though, in the end, the producers can technically give whatever credit they want to whomever they want. So it’s not 100% the case.

2020-10-12 12:58:45 +0000 UTCHere's the truth about season 5 and 6. The lead actor, Michael C Hall had just undergone chemo for cancer after 4. The writers honestly weren't sure of the future. Both seasons became kind of "stand alone just in case". I think they did a great job considering. It wasn't until season 7 that they could plan for the end of the show.
