Well people also judge from their own limited point of view :) even if they try to look deeper usually they won't be able to fully understand. More people should just practice kindness and compassion, judging has never helped anyone

The lengths he goes to in order to try and no longer be in pain. And faking cancer in this episode didn't wasnt going to harm anyone just potentially be pain relief for him so I never really thought of it as him being an ass. Though how he went about it when everyone found out and thought he was dying....

The problem with some people watching House and reacting to his character is that they judge his character only on how nice he is on the outside (or how nice he's not). Which judging only by that metric means that yes, House is just an ass. Not looking at his character more in depth. I love this episode because it shows how House thinks and how hard is to live in pain. I also find it an interesting look on how people judge other people nowadays - looking only on the outside (like how nice a person is) and not on the inside (putting themselves in someones shoes). Judging a person on only the things they say (things which can be faked easily - like niceness) and not bothering to see what a person is really like and why are they the way they are. I think it's telling of the way the world is nowadays. Thanks for the reaction!
