Candace has PTSD from her experience with Joe. I think she is very much scared of him, but it is not abnormal for survivors to keep tabs on their abuser. It's a trauma response and another form of protection and keeping themselves safe. It also might be a self-destructive tendency if brought too far. With Candace's situation, Candace believes that he murdered Beck. (And we know she's right). She also fears that he will hurt Love too, so she's also trying to protect her. While I think Candace enjoys seeing Joe squirm, I don't think she thinks this is a game. I think she realizes that her being around might make Joe mess up again, not necessarily in the way of murdering another person, but making it harder for Joe to cover up his own lies, murders and identity. This would make it easier to go to the authorities because she doesn't have any evidence now. I also don't know if she has much of a plan beyond being around him to get proof. Because being around him makes her PTSD even worse. It's a tricky slope, but after finding out about Beck, it is possible that Candace suffers from survivor's guilt and wants to save others from Joe's depravity. May that make her a little off in the head? Sure, the effect trauma has on brains is massive. But, I'm always rooting for Candace in spite of everything. She's kind of Hamlet, now that I think about it. It's just instead of being paralyzed by grief, she's paralyzed by trauma, and yet she knows she must act. What a dilemma. She also doesn't tell the truth to Love in that moment for fear of looking crazy. Joe clearly thinks he's crazy and is continually gaslighting her into thinking he didn't do anything wrong. One of the greatest fears of a survivor is the fear of not being believed, so Candace also has to play that game because, again, she has no proof, and we know what she went through with the police. And honestly, I wolf you is more than corny enough lol

Candace went through a traumatic experience when Joe tried to bury her alive. I think this is her way of coping since there wasn’t evidence and he wasn’t arrested. She knows what kind of man Joe is and she’s basically like I’m onto you & im waiting for you to screw up so you can get the justice you deserve. Also she’s aware of the situation with beck. That’s why she tracked him down in NY and then followed him to CA. She’s a little bit crazy because she’s continuing to show up around Joe but I think she feels guilty knowing he’s out there potentially hurting others. The knife scene: Joe was saying he thought Candace wanted to hurt him but he knew she wouldn’t actually do it because she’s not a psychopath that would try and kill someone.

I agree, I think she’s still trying to get the evidence she needs. She did just introduce Beck’s book to Forty, so maybe, as they dissect the book, it’ll reveal Joe’s secrets? Not exactly sure what’s in Candace’s mind, because we follow Joe and his thoughts. But, yes! We’re on Candace’s side! 🤟🏼

here's my take on the whole candace situation: Candace doesn't love Joe and does not want to be with him. She went to L.A to take him down before he hurts anyone else since the cops wont act without evidence. The reason she's not telling Love or anyone else about joe is because she doesn't have proof but she told Joe she had proof and a person potentially releasing it if he hurts her so he wouldn't kill her. Also, I'm 100% on Candace's side like Joe is an awful human being, but because we are following his mind and his journey we will automatically sympathize with him and we believe his explanations and excuses cuz that's what he tells himself to justify his actions.
