I'm honestly kind of annoyed with the horrible girlfriend trope in teen drama. Like, Talya is awful for no reason. Sure, she might be a bit jealous of Callie and Brandon but to read that girl's journal? Like, what the hell does she gain from that? It doesn't really add to the show, other than them building a rapport between Callie and Brandon by making the audience hate Talya. idk I just don't think it works or is needed here. I knew Lena would change the grade for Jude, but I'm wondering if the school would have realized that that is a conflict of interest and would have not had her correct the paper? It's just something that seemed obvious to me. I also hate the build-up between Jesus and Lexi because the conflict seems really contrived. I also don't really understand why they like each other in the first place. I mean, it could just be that they are physically attracted to each other, sure, but because we didn't really get a lot of Lexi, it just seems thrown in there, just because. However, through all the complaints I have, the Brandon/Mike/Stef stuff was very poignant and real. It made me tear up when they cut to the shot of Brandon seeing the piano. Mike is clearly hurt, but I'm glad he didn't get outright upset with Brandon. And I know Brandon didn't want to hurt anyone, but I also think he belongs with his mom and mama.

As for Talya, I think nobody liked her at all. Knowing what Callie wrote in that journal .. just nope. I think with Mariana though, I slightly disagree. Ofc she shouldn't still trust her birth mother, but Mariana has never really grown up with her, she feels like that part of her heritage is just missing .. you can't really blame the kid for wanting that .. but she should talk to Jesus or Stef and Lena about it .. Jude, similar story. He has a completely different viewpoint: he is so desperate to keep this current situation alive .. a situation where him and Callie are together in a safe home (which they didn't have before) and he knows that Callie is a rebel in some ways .. so he just wants her to keep the peace bc he's so afraid that they're gonna end up seperated again ..

2021-07-31 06:01:16 +0000 UTCI relate too with the school situation. I went to 8 elementary schools, 5 middle schools and 3 high schools😭 And I hate Brandon’s gf so much UGH! Honestly I don’t blame Jesus and Lexi or think it’s wrong because been there done that.

2021-07-31 06:00:43 +0000 UTCI'm a bit back and forth with Mike. He seems to think he's in some fucked up competition with Stef and Lena for Brandon but at the end he won me over. Talya is a PSYCHO! Reading her journal was BANG out of order! Evil bitch! Mariana is also a character I'm a little love/hate with. The fact she's still talking to the birth mom after letting Jesus take the fall for her, is stupid as hell. Girl needs to WAKE UP and fast. Jude, I love him but he really has no idea how much Callie has sacrificed to keep him safe. He acts like Callie is this massive obstacle in him being adopted by a family, but she's not. Callie literally went to juvie because she was trying to save her brother. By the sounds of it, she's always doing everything she can for Jude. He needs to understand that Callie stopped being a child when she was 10 years old, so that she could make sure Jude was okay. Brandon was so out of line for what he said to Stef and Lena and I hate that he used her sexuality against her like that. Love these reactions!
