And thank you for hanging in with Dexter to the end. I'm looking forward to your reaction to the teasers that have been released for the new season after you finish 8. Of course any of us waiting for YEARS for the new season are probably a whole lot more excited than you will be. But, I'm hoping you will react to season 9 which premiers on November 7.

I don't criticize this show much because I love it so much but Hannah not dying her hair or wearing a wig was a huge no no for me even the first time I watched it. Surely there was another way to put her in danger than the cooked up emergency room fiasco. I agree with AlexBoss about Dexter and Hannah, though.

I understand where you're coming from, but some of your gripes I disagree with. For example you have said many times that you don't like how different Dexter acts around Hannah. But that is the whole point of the Hannah character. His feelings for her and the hope he has of a future with her and Harrison, is slowly becoming stronger than the urge he thought he felt to kill. That final discussion he had with Harry, about him wanting to stay there with Hannah and Harrison, was what is important for his character. In the end he chose to go to Vogel, but I believe it was more out of his need to protect her rather than his need to kill Saxon. And in the end that is what we should be wanting for Dexter as a character. To evolve past this need to kill and start having more human emotions and form strong connections with other people. Also his need to escape with Hannah and Harrison makes total sense. He is a serial killer in Miami and has been for the most part of his life. Now he is thinking that maybe he wants something different and can be someone different and desires a fresh start. It makes all the sense in the world that he can't do that in Miami. Even if Hannah hadn't mentioned Argentina, he would still need to leave Miami in order to be someone else. Not to mention that all the murders he has done in Miami, might one day come back to bite him in the ass. So I understand Deb, feeling scared, and initially not wanting to let him leave, but I was happy in the end she realised that this was what he needed. Plus it removed the last hurdle from her wanting to be back in the force. With Dexter there that would have been very difficult for her. The whole thing with Vogel, even though I mentioned in the past, that I didn't like her character all that much, I liked the fact that Dexter also developed a sorta connection with her. Kinda like a mother figure (as portrayed in that episode where he and Hannah ate at her place). It was nice, but the truth is I didn't feel her death as strongly as I should have. Finally Deb's feelings for Quinn, they were kinda out of nowhere, but I mainly attribute them to her need to form new strong connections now that Dexter is leaving. Maybe she feels that she as well needs to look at her life more and Quinn was an important part of her life. PS- It also bothered me to no end, that the writers didn't think that a character like Hannah would not think of changing her appearance even a little bit. At least a wig. Or that Dexter wouldn't advise her to do so. But anyway...

Roasting a little kid for doing some dumb..... lol. Really surprised you hate the season as much as you do. Though over time I lost interest in all the side stories. The show is Dexter but its more Miami Metro. Think they tried to juggle too many things this season didn't develop enough of the few good aspects. Though Vogels terrible acting at points..... Shes like a big deal apparently... Dont know how from her performance here. Perhaps out of her depth a bit. Dont really get the rating system lol "Man I really liked this episode a lot ill give it an high 7, low 8" then one like this based off your reaction im like man this must be a 2 then..... nope..... 7 as usual. I dont think ive ever heard you give anything under a 6 but then withing that your ratings is like a 30 point system since you have low mid high for each number. Kinda feel like anything under a 5 you would probably just quit watching that show... so basically 1-5 would make more sense since the lower 5 right now is meaningless
