Also did he give up on Attack on Titan? I could swear he was doing that show up to the point where he would catch up with where you left off.

2021-08-06 15:02:03 +0000 UTCI love the catch up in the beginning that pieces everything together for a cohesive storyline. I just wish the whole season felt that way, without the need of a 'previously on' needing to show you how it all fits together.

That scene where Willow transported herself, Buffy, and Dawn from Rack's place to the Magic Shop is your first clue that Willow just got a huge power-up from the beginning of the episode. Anya mentioned in the beginning of the episode that a witch at Willow's level wasn't capable of transporting. Most she could do was go aerial. The wind and lightning was basically just for show. And then, in the jail, Andrew asks Anya to teleport him and Andrew out of there with her. And she responded that she couldn't, teleporting didn't work that way. Which meant that by the time Willow teleported herself, Buffy, and Dawn into the Magic Shop, she had not only FAR exceeded where she was when Anya dubbed her "the most powerful Wiccan in the Western Hemisphere", but she exceeded Anya's power level herself. Because she WAS able to teleport people with her. And being a powerful vengeance demon herself, Anya is no slouch. So this is no small feat. Willow became my favorite Big Bad at this point.

It wasn't needed at all in this particular episode, it didn't add anything to Spike's storyline, that the only thing it did do is take us out of the main Dark Willow plot. They could've just put Spike's stuff into the season finale episode and it would've achieved everything it needed to achieve regarding showing us what's Spike is up to.

That being said, I have never wanted Steven to stick to the original two Buffyverse episodes a week schedule more than I do right now. Bummer you missed one of the best transitions with willow, Buffy and dawn cause it looked like you were checking your phone again but I'm happy to see you're having a better understanding of what the season was and while it may not be the most action packed season it was still all building to some pretty solid moments at the end. Hope you enjoy the finale.
