I get the confusion with the whole Candace motive and what her angle is, I believe she's there for herself first and then protecting second. even tho both motives intertwine and I don't blame her at all for doing it. Like Chamari said "Taking joe down= protecting Love". Her breaking into Joe's apartment is to find souvenirs and evidence of something that can get Joe arrested.

2021-08-07 23:59:31 +0000 UTCI feel really bad for Candace. She was really blindsided by Love and didn't think she would be figured out in that way. She wasn't really ready to tell Love the whole truth because she didn't have any proof yet, but it was her last Hail Mary attempt. It's sad because the reason why she set up this entire plan in the first place was because she knew she wasn't going to be believed. And in the end, she wasn't. Love knowing the truth is protecting her, because she can escape Joe and/or help put him down. It saves her life knowing the kind of person that Joe is. Taking Joe down = protecting Love. That's how I saw that scene with Love and Candace. In terms of Candace taking the money, I mean, we only heard it from Love's side, so we don't really know Candace's motives from here on out.
