I did not see anyone answer this so I will, as far as if anyone can see Clary depends on if she activated the ruin or not. When the runes is activate only members of the shadow world can see, feel, or hear them unless they knock something over as Jace did at Simons's house. To back this is the first or second episode Clary tells Jace "unglamorise yourself so my best doesn't think I am crazy". Also in the episode at the police station where Calry said her plan was 90% good and sorry about the other 10%> Luke says " Glamor will not work there or downwarders and circle members all around the police station, and it would alert them"

Remember Alec couldn’t feel Jace through the Parabatai bond anymore so he felt he had to look for Jace when he was with Valentin. If the Parabatai bond oath didn’t make you understand the depth of why Alec had to find him, then the soul sharing should explain that. It’s why Luke stuck with Valentin even as he was getting deeper and deeper into being crazy. They were Parabatai until Valentin threw Luke to the wolves and he was turned into a werewolf and losing all his runes including the Parabatai rune. I mean look at the words of the oath: “Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried.” I think the wards on Valentin’s cargo ship were blocking Jace off from Alec and he probably was feeling the same longing to be with Alec but he knew what was happening. Alec on the other hand didn’t know that, didn’t know where Jace was, what Valentin was doing to him because he couldn’t feel anything. Even when Alec and Jace had that fight and Jace said he wanted Alec with him and Alec said no, they were still technically together in a we still live in the same place, still see each other, the bond is still there we just don’t agree with each other right now. But Jace going off with Valentin and Alec not being able to feel Jace through their Parabatai bond is what caused Alec to panic. Yeah people kept telling Alec not to do it but none of those people have Parabatai either. If Luke was there I’m sure he would have understood Alec’s need to do what he did.
