great reaction, yeah it was obvious that it was Jordan in this one but they still did a great job making this episodes mystery so intriuging

Mr. Smith the guy Castle meets with is genuinely trying to protect Beckett as a favor to Montgomery. He isn't the big bad but he knows who the big bad is. The big bad is the one who sent the lawyer. Smith knows the only way he can keep his promise of protecting Beckett is to make sure Castle stays in the precinct. Without giving away spoilers that will become harder to do as we get to the season 4 finale but it leads to my all time favorite Castle season finale.
