It's really funny isn't it, When I first watched this I was about 12/13 and thought Donna was completely out of order, I rewatched all seasons in my second/third year of University and then thought Eric was a complete D***. Now when I watch it I am 30 and still on Donna's side, I can understand where Eric is given the time period, girls weren't suppose to have dreams and wants other than getting married and having children, and Donna was a very modern women for the time and Eric was a traditional man.

2021-08-19 04:17:49 +0000 UTCthis has been a long time coming, i think. like with the concert, and her going backstage and eric getting upset about that as badly as he did. it seemed like a metaphor to how donna wants to live her life, with more freedom to discover who she is and have fun and grow and just find herself. but eric wants her with him and is threatened by the thought of anything different. they're so young still. donna deserves to be able to go out and discover who she is. and from a girl's perspective, some of eric's behavior has been very iffy and would make me a bit uncomfortable if i was in donna's position. i know we're supposed to be rooting for them, especially eric with him being the main character, but in rewatching, i'm moreso rooting for donna have the chance to grow and discover who she is. i think the whole convo on the car could have gone better with a bit more listening and communication between the two, but alas.... the acting was incredible though! you could really feel the emotions. it was just a very nice job! also sidenote, it's so funny seeing jackie and michael, knowing mila and ashton would be together in the future. i'm always amused watching them like, "oh how little do they know" lol
