And we meet Kevin! Marc Evan Jackson is such a gem in everything he is a part of. Best returning character!

Not that he's crossed into truly objectionable territory, but it's still felt a little off. Starting with this episode, I think we can see the writers recognizing that, and gradually dissolving that situation.

2021-08-28 08:07:04 +0000 UTCOne of my all-time favorite episodes. I can crack up laughing, and still get goosebumps at the line about "cops that look just like you." This episode sets the tone for B99, fun, light-hearted, enjoyable, but with deeper conversations and lots of heart. Jake's talk with Kevin is really well-done. I love that he brings up terms like "Marginalized" because it shows that while he is a goof, he's very aware and serious when it comes to these issues. I love that he wanted to make things right, and give Holt and Kevin their special night. Kevin is such a gem, and I look forward to the future episodes you'll see him in. Also, re: Amy. To me, she's not so much "stalker" but moreso desperate to connect with Holt. She wants a mentor so desperately so she can, too, climb that ladder. She looks up to Holt for so many reasons and wants to connect with him on a deeper level. But she doesn't know how. So she desperately clings for things that will help start up a conversation (having the same microwave, towels, etc). I liked what you said in the end about her trying so hard, but not really knowing how, and just making everything awkward. She's very sweet, and doesn't have any ill-intentions, she just really wants to be able to connect with Holt somehow, someway.

(Although I agree with you that, for the sake of a laugh about everybody buying cheap wine, they sold out Amy's and Boyle's characters.) Terry for me was an MVP here, with his lectures about adult parties, and his lines like "Don't move in a group, you're not gazelles!" and "Stop eating crab wrong!"
