I agree with everything everyone said. I think Steven was a little stuck on the whole Lorelei/Luke of it all from the previous episodes. In my view this really have anything to do with Rory’s mom but really her own relationship with her father. Rory has her own relationship with her father-which has been up to this point been pretty non-existent, mainly by Christophers doing-and her feelings can sometimes have nothing to do with her mom but her. For years as a child was excited to see her dad, even if he showed up very little but the more she grows up and becomes an adult, the angrier she gets about being a shitty dad not being there for her and him just showing up and expecting to miss school is just not on. Skip class? Like people say-yeah right! She probably felt even more disrespected.

So yeah I'm not a fan. Especially bc Lorelai is so happy with Luke and this just can't end well if she is lying to him about it already ..

2021-08-31 08:23:06 +0000 UTCI'm NOT a Christopher fan. He's the selfish one, always expecting Lorelai and Rory to be there, waiting for him whenever he remembers they exist. Lorelai should put up boundaries with him but I get it. She has sentiment when it comes to him. They grew up together. They had Rory together. Still, I'm on Rory's side.

2021-08-31 00:10:29 +0000 UTCOkay, I might sound like a heartless bitch here, but I am totally team Rory with the way she reacted to Chris just randomly appearing at Yale. I know he just lost his dad, but this is what he does! ANY time he has stuff going on that he needs help with or whatever, he goes to them and just expects them to drop everything for him and his needs. This is the first time he's come to Yale and she's been there a year now. He just turns up out of the blue, no warning, no asking, nothing and just expects her to ditch class and what? Go grab a coffee with him? Does he know his kid at all? Other than that one and only time she ditched to see Jess, Rory NEVER misses school! She's in an Ivy League school, and is under a lot of pressure, and he wants her to just blow it off? Why should she? Why should she be polite to him when he uses her and Lorelai whenever his own life is going to shit? It's always the same with him, and I don't blame her for being completely over it now. He's let them down too many times. On to the other parts of the episode! Luke being so understanding with Lorelai over her love of snow and building the ice rink was just adorable! The town stuff was hilarious! When Kirk came out in that dress I lost it! XD Lorelai should of just told Luke the truth. He's lost both parents and is a big "family is so important" guy so he'd of understood. Can't wait for the next one!
