Brandon is very unlikable by this point. He loves Callie, but you have to ask how much he really does loves her. If he did he wouldn't jeopardize her stay with them by continuously chasing her. He's very selfish.

2021-11-01 01:26:03 +0000 UTCI think there are a couple of things that are missing from this episode... We really haven't built Mike as an alcoholic, so the arrest/chase scene isn't really seen as a big Mike failure although it is... Just because Mike is not coming to work drunk, doesn't mean he isn't coming to work hungover, and that's what it seems like he is. The show didn't really make a big deal of Mike's alcoholism until this moment, so it is almost coming out of nowhere, rather than the show building Mike's stress and the audience seeing him drinking more and more. But that is why him drinking at the quince was a big deal. He really shouldn't be drinking at all, but it looks like that Mike and the people around him have been too lax about his alcoholism. I think people are right to think that his reflexes are too slow - one, the guy that he was handcuffing shouldn't have been able to elbow him in the first place. I am not a police officer and will never be one, but the way he handcuffed that guy was sluggish. I think cops are usually supposed to make sure both arms are pinned down during the arrest, but Mike took both of his arms to pin down one of the arrestee's arm to put the handcuffs on, leaving the other arm free to elbow him. That was the mistake, I think. Not to mention that the elbow basically took him out - if anything, Mike should have recovered more quickly than he did, but he fell on the ground and stayed there for a few seconds. Mike did several things "wrong" there due to his limited motor skills at the time. I don't think Captain was wrong in her approach. They clearly know about Mike's alcoholism, which probably means it has been a problem before, and something like this could have happened before. And honestly, Stef definitely agreed with Captain, or she wouldn't have reacted the way she did on site. But again, I think it's a writing flaw because this story wasn't well developed at all. And yeah, lesbians are ALWAYS going to be friends, even after ending long relationships with one another. Like, obviously that's not true across the board for every single lesbian relationship, but most lesbians will stay close friends with one another. They went out to dinner because they wanted to - you don't really need a reason to go out to dinner with a friend. Lena only became uncomfortable when she felt like she was being teased, and then, of course, when the whole marriage thing came up. The ending was INSANE though. I'm pretty sure I watched this episode live and I was SHOOK.

2021-11-01 01:24:32 +0000 UTCI'm just binging through the first episodes to catch up, so I am behind, but Stef is angry at Mike during the chase because he let the suspect get the better of him. Cops are held to a higher standard, (or they should be....) and yes, you can say that could have happened to anyone, but a cop would look at it as he should have been prepared. He was blindsided. He has no idea that he was preparing to fight, which who knows if that is because of lessened reflexes due to alcohol consumption, but it's a fact that he was blindsided, and a cop cannot be blindsided. Being overpowered is one thing. Some people are bigger, and drugs can definitely make people uncommonly strong, but to not see it coming is different. As for his drinking... he is an alcoholic. Whether he drinks everyday, or doesn't have a drop for the next fifty years, he is an alcoholic for life. Everyone knows that he has had that problem in his past. And one drink for an alcoholic is one drink too many. Hense, having his son have to drive him home from the quincenera, or the oversleeping for Brandon's audition. He had been drinking the night before and overslept. That is a problem. I like Mike. I hate that this is happening, but he has his demons like we all do, and needs to deal with them. As for Stef and Lena, Gretchen is an old friend. Ex or not, I am sure Lena just figured it would be fun to catch up. As time goes by, we tend to forget the bad attributes people have sometimes... such as liking to stir the pot, like Gretchen seems to love to do. In regards to Stef not knowing Lena wanted to get married... Getting married for someone who is gay is very different. It isn't just assumed that you will after a certain amount of time. It just became legal to do, so those that have had partners for so long, some feel like it's not a big deal, if for no other reason than to make it okay in their own minds for all those years of not being legally allowed to marry. How does it change anything? Why Stef was angry was because she thought they were on the same page. Lena knew Stef didn't want to get married, and so Lena did what she believed best in the situation. She saw Stef's point, and didn't see why pushing her own dream of marriage on someone who was so against it would be any help, when all it is is a piece of paper. In fact, I think Stef kind of does have a right to be angry, if for no other reason than Lena was not honest with her. Why had Stef never thought about marriage? Because they had already talked about it, and she thought they were both in the agreement that they didn't want to. And now here is Lena's ex telling her all these things about her partner that she didn't know. That she SHOULD have known. It was embarrassing.

2021-10-15 22:43:33 +0000 UTCand regarding the ex, many women who have had relationships with other women tend to stay friends with their ex's more so than women in straight relationships. it's kind of one of those stereotypes like the whole u-haul on the second date thing that actually is kind of true lol

2021-09-10 13:27:27 +0000 UTCalso regarding mike, i think it was seen as if his reflexes being faster, then that wouldn't have happened and his reflexes are slow from drinking, lack of sleep, and tons of coffee. but i 100% agree, the way it was shown felt like something that could have happened to anyone.
