i agree, it can be annoying when you feel you don't get a pay-off of a storyline, but i think of these episodes as more "slice of life." i feel like johnny likes to be relied on, and not in a toxic kind of controlling sense, he just likes to feel needed. the episode where he kept calling the grocery store comes to mind, but also when moira was trying to film her commerical. he wants to feel like he's needed and relied upon for things and the roses flourishing without him having to reign them in and be the voice of reason as i'm sure he's accustomed to is an adjustment lol but i love seeing them all grow and adapt.

2021-09-25 18:31:53 +0000 UTCIt's true that not all the subplots got "finished off" -- which frustrates me too at times, but that's sort of the style of the series, that we just look at a sample day or two in their lives, and then it's over. This one isn't one of my tip-top favorites, but I do like the way it shows (as you guys said) three of the Roses growing and adapting. Johnny is still trying to figure out his role now that he's not running an empire, so he sometimes interferes and talks too much (remember how he got David fired from the grocery by repeatedly calling).
