Comments

This comment is for both the Vampire Diaries and the Originals (particularly the 8th episode). Non of the main characters in these shows are faultless, but there are 2 characters who are constantly treated like they are nothing but the shitty bad guys by everyone else because of their past. They are treated like they are incapable of redemption or changing for the better while everyone else 's mistakes or evil acts are always forgiven, almost immediately.

I love this episode but I hate that they plotted against klaus just because tyler said he waanted to use his baby, when he had no intention to. I was on klaus' side when he fought back for that reason.

One of my favorite episodes of the series! Nothing short of EPIC. The Klaus against 100 fight is ICONIC. Marcel picking up the coin >>> When he says it's a trick he learned from an old friend, it's Marcel. Marcel did the same thing to Ben and his friend to test loyalty. I don't think they gave up on the plan too quickly... They realized that everybody was going to die before they could take Klaus out. I don't think any of them realized Klaus' full strength because they've never had to see it until now. And somehow, Marcel really hit Klaus in the jugular in the end, even though he technically lost everything. The Cami thing was nothing more than an infatuation imo. As soon as Rebekah came into town, you could tell where Marcel's attention lied... I like that Klaus went to Kieran and told him to convince Cami to go so he doesn't have to compel her. I think in Klaus' mind, this is a sign that he respects her and cares for her very much, despite all the compulsion he's already put her through. He's taken away her choice and free will for a lot of other things, but this one thing, he wants to be her choice.

I Am Not Chamari

The Marcel/Cami stuff ended when Kieran told Marcel to stay away from his niece.

She is a hybrid through birth not transition. So I think she's able to act like an original hybrid in a way not even Klaus could since he was not a vampire by birth only a wolf. She is both by blood. So the nature of the baby's existence creates a new loophole. One that no longer requires the doppelganger's blood that turned Klaus into a vampire (or sealed away her father's wolf). And she would not exist if Klaus wasn't already a hybrid so nature created a second loophole since the doppelganger was supposed to die in the first ritual, anyway.

Before Klaus's eyes turned yellow he was only fighting with a small percentage of his strength. Basically he was letting them kick his ass for a moment. Then when his eyes turned yellow he was calling on his hybrid strength...not to mention that he is an original vampire, which gives him a lot more strength than even an older vampire. Rebecca had hoped this many vamps would be enough to take on Klaus and subdue him. She realized she was wrong the minute she dropped the stake. I love Kol too. He is actually my favorite from TVD and TO universe. Elijah is my second favorite. I agree that it would be interesting to see how he fits into this world. He is a wild card...probably the most of either show. You also have mentioned they tried to do the Cami thing with Marcel in the beginning. Marcel was just essentially using her as a distraction for the other blonde he really wanted...Rebecca. She also was there to provide another point of tension between Klaus and Marcel considering they both kind of liked her. Marcel had liked Rebecca for years but had never been able to be with her because of Klaus. He didn't think now would be any different. I'm sure he had plenty of relationships in that time with other women. He didn't expect to be able to actually be with Rebecca. That's why he started with Cami and then dropped her the second Rebecca showed interest.

This ep is sooo goated because of the brilliant Joseph morgan Portraying klaus the way he did From the siniseter speech against like 100 vamps to his tearful display with his siblings. Lets not forget his earful convos with camille that really serves as a therapy session. I also loved Cole cuz he was a wild card but not like klaus but more because he is the youngest and clearly thinks his older siblings suck and therefore he lashes out

This episode just really shows the many layers of Klaus. On the one hand he is strong af, able to kill hundreds of vampires all by himself, but on the other hand he feels so utterly alone. And he was right in what he said: Elijah and Rebekah not believing him when it came to his child was super hurtful. They ofc have their reasons for that seeing as Klaus is devious and manipulative af, but still it just makes Klaus think he's rightfully doubting everybody. He wants to be loved and adored like Elijah is, but also knows that it's his own fault that that's not the case. It's brilliant writing imho.

Anytime we see Klaus show his werewolf eyes, that's him activating his werewolf side full force with rage; in addition to his 1000-year-old original vampire strength. Rebekah may be powerful than most vampires in the entire TVDUniverse, but no way can she win a fight up against Klaus. Not even Elijah can. Regarding Klaus' child being able to create hybrids. It's a bit hard to explain. Esther deactivated his werewolf side & made a spell that the only way he'd be able to re-activate it is with the doppelgänger's blood. I'd say THAT was a specific curse against him to keep his werewolf side dormant as well as preventing him from making more of his kind. However, the doppelgänger's blood becomes obsolete when it comes to a child that is born already with their father's hybrid gene in addition to their mother's werewolf gene. That hybrid blood is already in that child entirely without a curse to prevent from making more hybrids. That's how I see it.

This is one of my favorite episodes for season 1. Really great acting by Klaus (Joseph Morgan), I don't excuse anything he's done but I was deeply feeling for him during his speech. He's a really complex, tragic character
