It's so interesting how Klaus is running the quarter in the beginning... He sees Marcel as a partner, not as a subordinate, which is why he was so honest with him. Perhaps t's because he knows that he needs him in order to run a successful kingdom? Marcel was ruthless in a lot of ways, but he wasn't lawless. I think he had the respect of the faction and let them sort of talk their talk and hold power, while Klaus on the other hand, always needs others to know that they are beneath him. Diplomacy seems to really matter here. And then, we see that Klaus really does want a partnership here. Despite all the betrayal and backstabbing between the two of them. That's love right there tbh. The Marcel and Rebekah scene was hard to watch, but it was inevitable.
