2021-10-25 18:23:57 +0000 UTCpenn badgley...the actor who plays joe...has said in interviews that the purpose of this show is to show what cruel, vile things white men can get away with doing and how even the publics reception of them doing these things will be tame. this was never more evident than this season. the audience's reception to love compared to their reaction to joe is night and day even though they are basically the same person. she is just as bad as he is.

2021-10-24 12:44:57 +0000 UTCThe thing about Joe... is that he will trick us into thinking he is going to change his ways, or that he is better, or that he wants to be different. He did the exact same thing in the Season 2 premiere. I learned to never trust that, so as soon as we saw him going to stalk Natalie with his son, I knew this wasn't going to end well. If you're obsessing over another woman, almost immediately after your marriage began, then you haven't changed one bit. Joe may not have had sex with natalie, but he definitely wanted to and she definitely became an obsession to him, although he lied about it. Natalie was definitely forward and I find it interesting that the people of Madre Linda immediately identified her as a cheater... I think the best way to describe Love at this time is that she is very impulsive. I am not even sure that she planned to kill Natalie until she saw the axe in the basement. Joe may not be impulsive in the same way, but he sure is a lot of other things haha.
