I love Caroline, I truly do, but i hate that she is so damn hypocritical! Her constant Damon bashing is bad enough but her biggest hypocritical line is in this episode when she judges Klaus for coming to gloat over Katherine's almost corpse when that is literally what she was just doing with everyone else.

Although, as much as she was using it as manipulation, I do think she meant the things she said, but regardless, when it actually comes down to it she chooses to survive, by any means possible.

2021-10-31 22:32:11 +0000 UTCI don't know... I think the ending twist was kind of perfect for Katherine's character. She's a survivor and a manipulator. And while it would have been nice to give her this swan song of an ending, it would not have been true to her character. So, of course, in the end, we were manipulated by the master herself. She played us, like she has been playing everyone for centuries. It never made any sense for Katherine to go off gently into the night tbh... I liked this twist for her.

And yes I agree, with all the build up and farewells and the gang reminiscing on how Katherine ruined their lives...and even Katherine finally getting forgiveness and closure with Stefan, Elena, and her daughter...they really should've just let her die. It would've been a fitting ending for her character. As much as I love TVD, one of my biggest gripes with the show is its constant need to throw in random twists just for the sake of shock value.
