I think it is the same pattern in this episode but this time Peyton has Jake and he struggles to reconnect with her. With Brooke it is easier, he thinks she is single, she loved him very much the first time so it feels right for him.

2022-02-12 21:12:47 +0000 UTCI know i'm behind and you guys may have figured this out by now. You keep talking about Dan playing despite the heart condition. Dan didn't find out he had the heart condition until his heart attack. If he had known as a high schooler, the doctors would have told him no to basketball also. So that's why Dan played through it, because he was unaware he had it where as Lucas and Nathan now know it runs in the family and they might have it.

2021-11-27 23:25:12 +0000 UTCThe problem with this is that we are, in theory, supposed to be seeing character development from Lucas and all the girls. Lucas having intense feelings for Brooke, when he apparently never fell for her in the first place, is still super strange. And in that episode you're referring to, 1x10, that was before he realized that he had made the wrong choice. That's why, in my opinion, this is not at all applicable to this situation. If that case, it would be like history repeating itself, but in a really silly way. I just think they did it for the drama.

2021-11-07 14:03:08 +0000 UTCLucas choosing Brooke here is understandable when you look at his interactions with both women in this episode. He tried to help them both and Brooke was much more appreciative and warm in her reaction to him fixing her car, whereas Peyton kind of snapped and got upset when he came to her house to talk to her. This reminds me of back in season 1 when Lucas was trying to decide between Brooke and Peyton, and he called Brooke fun and easy to be around. But said Peyton was complicated and full of issues. His comments then are definitely applicable here. At the end of this episode he chose the one who he currently feels more connected to. Lucas is a simple teenager. It doesn't take much more than that to sway his decisions.

2021-11-03 23:42:05 +0000 UTCit's so interesting to me that haley sees music and chris as being so intertwined, and that she can't have music without chris being attached. idk where this stemmed from, but i feel bad for her because there's clearly some insecurities at play. she wants the thing she's passionate about, but for some reason, is getting chris tied into that and therefore transferring some of those intense feelings also on to him? it's odd, but i do feel for her. i wish she had the confidence in herself to know she can do this without him. i forgot just how much gets revealed here at the end. it's a lot of "WTF" moments lol but that's one tree hill for you lol i don't care at all for the lucas going to brooke storyline. they were just finally agreeing to a friendship and showing emotional growth and maturity with that talk they had about making an effort to be friends. i was so hoping he could have a similar moment with peyton. i just feel so badly for her with how much she's struggling. and honestly, if i were brooke, i would have left felix and had chased after her. felix could wait, peyton needed someone so badly in that moment. it's so interesting that jake shows up!! i have seen this show so many times but these recent episodes are so messy and intense that there's so many details i've forgotten! it's so fun to watch it back and be surprised

2021-11-03 20:18:52 +0000 UTCExactly! Jake probably couldn’t find her at the house, so he checked Tric and there she was 😊

2021-11-03 12:55:57 +0000 UTCAs for Haley: as many said she recently found her passion for music and wants to pursue it but since she’s also 17 and newly married she’s very confused on how to go about it. I don’t think she’s into Chris, she just sees him offering her a shot at proving how good she can be at music. Is this the right way to go about it? No absolutely not. But heck she’s a teenager, even Haley can make mistakes. She feels overwhelmed by it all.

2021-11-03 12:54:42 +0000 UTCWow the comment section is on fire again 🔥 I would say a lot of the WTF moments at the end are gonna be explained next episode, so calm down it’s not random ;) The biggest WTF moment to me was Dan setting up Keith. I mean, what in the actual fuck 👀

2021-11-03 12:53:51 +0000 UTCI'm not sure. She's also 16/17 and has been going through a lot of changes since early season 1. I think it's plausible that she got swept up in something new and didn't know how to process it.

2021-11-03 11:20:39 +0000 UTCAgain, after watching this ep i summarize that for shock value and for the sake of wanting to keep the show unpredictable the writer make some questionable decisions. Lucas falling in love with brooke again like you cheated on her with peyton cuz she was your true love remember WTF! Deb randomly telling lucas mom the truth, jake randomly coming back by walking up to her in some sketchy place how tf did he know she was there lol. Worst of all is the nathan going over the top jealousy, which i can forgive because he is still dan’s son after all, so that’d be good character development, but hailey doing what she did was Trash and was solely there so that the viewers could Gasp but that completely betrays whay her character is about. The only super interesting unpredictable moment was dan setting up Keith with that girl. Thats actually wild

2021-11-03 10:49:32 +0000 UTCShe hasn't left. It was a cliff hanger. We don't know what she does.

2021-11-03 10:44:39 +0000 UTCThis is my first time watching this show chronologically in almost 2 decades so legit remember nothing from this show lol and what i took from this episode is that for shock value and to make the show seem super unpredictable they made characters act & do things that betrays what we know them to be. Season 1 and part of season 2 hailey would NEVER do something this selfish and heartless. Especially after seeing that nathan loves her so much he damn near gave up basketball for her and is being super romantic and shit. They hailey we know up til now would cherish/value that and wouldnt go to another city with this guy who just made a pass at her WITHOUT at least fucking discussing it with nathan. Thats poor writing right there

2021-11-03 10:43:31 +0000 UTCBrooke could have been slipping away because she was semi with Felix and that maybe she was ready to really be with someone again and Lucas wanted to make sure that was with him instead of someone else.

2021-11-03 10:43:28 +0000 UTCHaley leaves during this season because Bethany Joy Lenz was away at the One Tree Hill Concert Tour which featured Gavin DeGraw, Michelle Branch and Tyler Hilton (Chris Keller).

2021-11-03 10:03:30 +0000 UTCI have such mixed feelings on Hayley and Nathan, I feel like Nathan kind of demanding that Haley no longer work with Chris and then threatening to break Chris's hands so he can't play music anymore weren't the best decisions, but I understand his feelings since Chris has already said things to him about Haley and Haley lied about working with Chris. I definitely don't think it was good at all that Haley went to Chris after he kissed her, but for some reason Hayley has Music and Chris conflated in her head, she seems to think she doesn't have one without the other. Also, Hayley has always loved music but she didn't believe in herself and Nathan helped her realize that's something she really wanted and now for the first time she has this huge dream she realizes she wants so much like Nathan with basketball.

2021-11-03 06:37:24 +0000 UTCThis episode was the mid-season finale, so they kind of started throwing everything to the wall to hope that'd it stick. At least, that's what it felt like. I agree that the Lucas/Brooke stuff came out of nowhere. I have an inkling of why the writers decided to do that, but that will lead us down a whole rabbit hole that isn’t worth it right now lol But, within the context of the show, it really felt like they were totally setting it up to be Peyton. Or else, why would they do the Jake fakeout? Peyton and Lucas never resolved their feelings for each other. At the end of Season 1, Lucas goes to see Peyton before he leaves saying "I'll be seeing you." A line from the pilot. He leaves the letter he wrote for both Brooke and Peyton at Peyton's door. Now, we're in Season 2. He hasn't had many scenes with either Brooke or Peyton individually, but has made it clear he wants to repair their friendship. Brooke and Lucas start on that journey last episode. Peyton and Lucas finally had a conversation in this episode, where Peyton pushed him away after calling him out for not being a true friend. Lucas literally said “I feel like she’s slipping away, and I have to go see her tonight,” or something like that. How exactly was Brooke slipping away? They were just starting to hang out with each other again... While Peyton very much was headed towards the deep end. And I think Luke noticed that. Either way, I’m pretty sure when Nathan was talking to Lucas, he meant Peyton. So, where does that leave us? Lol But I guess they drop a couple of Brucas moments in this episode and voila... that's what we get... The Haley/Chris stuff... she loves the music. She's enraptured by it. I think she's wrapping Chris into that and that's why she might be feeling confused and all mixed up. Dan was playing the long game, when it came to Keith and Jules. That's all I'll say.

2021-11-03 06:07:15 +0000 UTCPayton given the layout seems to be at tric (the club). Not exactly middle of nowhere. And It's a place that is connected to her. Someone who knows her might know to look for her there (that's all I'm going to say).

2021-11-03 05:03:13 +0000 UTCHayley has always been into music, she was just really shy about it but Nathan encourage her to follow that dream since season 1. About the Peyton thing with Jake lol. You will find out more in the following episodes. The girl Keith is seeing looked soo desperate for Keith to leave, I knew something was up. I think she has started to develop real feelings and she didn't want for Keith to be hurt anymore. Dan is just evil lmaoo but his methods are always not only surprising but entertaining af. My Brucas shipping heart felt soo hurt about that moment when Lucas is seeing Brooke and Felix kissing lol. I honestly understand where Nathan is coming from and I don't blame him for requesting both Hayley and Chris to stay away from each other. The fact that Hayley lied about practicing with him at the very beginning just shows that the trust that they should have in each other is slowly breaking. I mean Nathan wasn't worried for just anything (cuz literally a few scenes later Chris is kissing Hayley) and wasn't being overly possessive about it either, I think he could just tell the vibes.

2021-11-03 04:34:13 +0000 UTCLmao I pretty much new the ending montage would be endless amounts of “wtf” moments. And yes a lot of it seems random but it’ll all make sense as to why certain things are happening. As for Lucas going to see Brooke, I’m sure many of us thought that he was going to see Peyton, too. But I was shocked at the revelation that it was Brooke. I remember feeling like it didn’t make much sense, and I’m sure it still doesn’t to many people. But imo, I think that Lucas has felt bad and regretted his choice of dumping Brooke when they were dating. I think the heart break that he felt from things not working out with Peyton made him stray away from their friendship. Because if you remember, he and Peyton didn’t leave off on the best note last season and she was clearly more focused on Jake and it was something that Lucas took notice of. So, that probably left him feeling like maybe he ruined a good thing with Brooke because she was literally a good girlfriend to him. That’s how I like to see it.

2021-11-03 04:10:16 +0000 UTCExactly my thoughts. Nathan has always been supportive of Haley and he already proved that he is willing to put the commitment he made to her first by turning down high fliers. Haley is definitely in the wrong here. So many things she did this past few episodes that I don't agree with personally. Especially the constant lying and blame shifting. I honestly don't know what's going through her head. The best that I can deduce, I believe she's confusing her feelings towards music and misplacing them onto Chris.

2021-11-03 03:50:51 +0000 UTCdan has been conning keith this entire time as payback for keith sleeping with deb. he also conned deb into staying with him by pretending to still be sick and needing to be taken care of. basically dan's entire "seeing the world in a new light" shtick after he woke up was an act. remember early on in the season when you said you didn't like dan suddenly changing and being nice. well he was just pretending. it was an act. he's still the same conniving, malicious, manipulative dan he's always been.

2021-11-03 03:50:04 +0000 UTCThese are just opinions of my own with no spoilers which I always advise others to not do. Anything that airs after this episode is CONSIDERED A SPOILER! Now to this episode, when it comes to Haley and Chris I personally love how they sing together and their chemistry. It’s probably something with Haley and the bad boys that I sort of dig although I am not a big Nathan and Haley shipper because it was a bit rushed to me… What you two bothers were talking about in the end, if the times were reversed and a big scout offered Nathan to play on the basketball team would he take the offer? I would say yes… however is the person who is making the offer a person who has a crush on Nathan and kissing on him? I would like to think Haley would have a huge issue with that. Haley had an issue with a porn collection that Nathan had and she’s always been a bit insecure when it came to Nathan with women so I think Haley would have a difficult time supporting Nathan leaving if he was with a “hot girl” and for me that’s where I defend Nathan. It seems a lot of people forget that Nathan was the one to encourage Haley to sing in season 1 when Haley was terrified to do so. He was the one who wanted the world to hear her talent however the issue is Chris Keller. The guy who is making all these offers has the hots for Haley and as we the audience watched, kissed her! Nathan doesn’t know about that kiss but even based on what I see, I feel Nathan is in a tough situation because Haley is lying to him about Chris and at times it seems she has some romantic feelings for Chris. When it comes to Lucas decision in the end, yes that was so shocking since many of us believed that the feelings for Peyton were much stronger… I do feel certain things played a part in that but yeah Lucas wanting to reveal feelings to Brooke was a shocker. The Jake return!!!! I love him so much so to see him return the way he did was a great shocking return that I was 💯 here for! Also I loved Peyton telling off Anna… not sorry. lol
