On another note, I'm glad Lorelai "found" the sewing kit cuz you KNOW Emily would have blamed the maid and get her in trouble with the law.

i agree with this completely

What gets me about Emily in the dinner scene is the way she’s talking down about Lorelei to Logan, like she wasn’t raised by Emily and around wealthy people growing up…“it takes a certain eye to be aware of these things” 😒. Emily is being overly fake and that laugh grates on my last nerve! The sewing kit/lighter swap freak out was so unnecessary, I know Emily thinks VERY highly of herself and their status, etc. but the way she overreacted in front of an “important” guest such as Logan isn’t a good look imo. I don’t remember for sure but I don’t recall there being anything else said about how the article ends up running since she did pull it in the “live and let diorama” episode 🤷🏻‍♀️

I actually love Logan’s Ace nickname for Rory! I always thought it was cute “Ace reporter”

Honestly I hate Emily more than Richard. He's just as culpable cuz he could defend his daughter once in a while. Emily must have brain damage to think she can be this snooty. Does she not remember all the damage she's done to Lorelai just recently!?!? She WANTED Lorelai to come back for Friday night dinner right? So I understand the blackmail of "if you come this week you come every week" cuz otherwise she knew Lorelai would never come back. But once you get that in, why would you treat her like trash!?!? Emily was in the wrong, Emily should be going out of her way to be nice to Lorelai to get back in her good graces and yet...god, I hated Emily the first time around and I still hate her now. There's no justification for her actions or her pettiness. And I never really thought about Rory before Cuz I was a kid and I saw Rory as "the kid" but honestly, if I was that age and a relative was that rude to my mom, there would have been a smackdown. Emily would have deserved it. She's just holding the money as emotional blackmail at this point. I hate Emily, I'm annoyed at Richard and I'm disappointed in Rory.

I agree, Richard and Emily are horrible, treated Luke so bad and Dean and the love Logan just because he is rich. And i agree Rory is not loyal, she didn’t defend lorelei to jess either. And Logan steeling is not cool.

Yes, Rory is not reactive to any of this rich-white-people bullshit that the Huntzbergers and also Emily and Richard do. Mostly I think bc she didn't grow up with it. To her it's a fascinating world that she's just come into contact with over recent years and still never at the Huntzberger-level of privilege. Rory is just super naive about all of it and doesn't see that it's a pattern that Emily and Richard follow where if you don't live like they do and act like they do you're trash. Lorelai was right about everything she said during dinner, it's not that she hates Logan but she's just weary about what Rory is getting exposed to here bc she knows how naive and gullible Rory can be.

Logan is a child that has never been forced to grow up. What he is doing is theft, yes, but to him, it's just a knick knack that could be replaced, no problem. They all have unlimited money after all. What he hasn't grown up enough to know though is that antique sewing box may have been a family heirloom. That silver cigarette lighter may have been passed down from father to son. Those things are irreplaceable. Like I said... he's a child and can't comprehend the consequences of his actions. I do have to call bull on Emily noticing it that quickly though. That cracks me up every time I see it. She is observant, but that is hilarious. I hate snooty Richard and Emily too. Richard wasn't full snoot this episode, but Emily was 100%. I also don't understand why Rory doesn't say anything. She isn't going to start an argument, and I don't think she should, but a simple "Grandma, be nice" wouldn't be out of line in my opinion. For Logan to say something, I think would be highly inappropriate. It is none of his business how Emily speaks to her daughter. Especially when this is the first time he is meeting them. Plus, except the whole theft thing, he is trying to be on his best behavior, to make a good impression. The scene with Paris singing I'm Walking On Sunshine always cracks me up. I used to watch this show so much years ago, and my dad would always be in the background, and that always got him giggling, so it always cracks me up even more after that, as he never watched, but it showed he was watching more than he let on. lol

Oh also they don’t know what he looks like because he’s taking over the paper like they said earlier, basically he bought it out so he’s new and wants to make money so cuts

Erin

They don’t want an “in” with the family it’s more like how “polite society” reacts. There’s a lot of families like this in different parts of New England, where this is set. It’s...a lot and confusing but it’s just how it’s done in those circles
