It's gonna be so sweet when Steven flips and hates Lana and loves Lois

2021-11-09 21:41:31 +0000 UTCIt's weird, I'm in agreement with Steven about not loving Lois' character... but somewhere between the 7th and 10th time he mentioned it I was thinking ok, it's a given now... she's not going to suddenly in one or two episodes act drastically different, so we get it. That was all in episode 1 though. The 15th+ times he's mentioned it if you count this episode and suddenly Lois isn't all that annoying really. Relatively speaking.

2021-11-07 01:00:11 +0000 UTCLois isn’t brought in here as a love internet for Clark at all. She is there to search for Chloe and runs into Clark along the way. But Lois isn’t here to just step right into the “will they won’t they” storyline with Clark in place of Lana. And the Clark/Lana awkward sexual tension is far from over. Don’t let your knowledge that in the comics Clark and Lois end up together cloud the journey that the show is taking you on. They aren’t even love interests yet. Similar to how you didn’t let your knowledge that Clark and Lex wind up arch enemies stop you from enjoying their friendship and they journey they are going on.

2021-11-05 06:14:37 +0000 UTCI think it’s funny how Lana is trying to “convince” herself that both she and Clark are moved on from eachother when she’s in the caves. If you have to try to “convince” yourself kiddo, you’re not moved on. You ever notice that whenever Lana takes Lex’s advice about something, even something seemingly benign like going to Paris, it always leads Lana towards the Darker side of life? It’s an interesting mirror technique for the viewer: It’s like the more she listens to Lex she goes more toward the dark side, and the more listens to Clark in her life she goes toward the light side. It’s a good juxtaposition of the personification of the two characters

2021-11-04 21:20:39 +0000 UTCAlso, this show takes a lot of liberties with comics canon, but Lois being an Army brat isn't one of them. General Sam Lane is a very common foil for Superman in the comics.

2021-11-04 07:42:53 +0000 UTCAs I recall, a huge portion of the fanbase was pretty sick of the Clark/Lana merry-go-round at this point. They had beaten that horse into the ground and Lana was feeling like a pretty stagnant character for a while now. So the notion that killing Lana off was the only way fans could get behind the notion of Clark with Lois (or anyone else) isn't really accurate. I'd really suggest you stop worrying about them forcing the Clark/Lois thing. You're not even half way through the show and Lois just got here (she and Clark aren't even friends yet) - they've got a looooong way to go.

2021-11-04 07:36:25 +0000 UTCYeah it's kinda cringy to me as well the way Lana mentions Lois and Clark. Like it was supposed to be foreshadowing, but it was not subtle at all. If it's any consolation I do like Lana more than Lois. But don't worry it's a 10 season show. You will reach the middle when you start watching season 6. So so much more to go. So many things will change. I really love that every season of this show is good and flows well with the character development. Because a lot of long shows rush into relationships than marriage and then the character development stops. But I like that this show takes its time with the will they won't they. If I like the characters I enjoy the will they won't they stuff regardless of how many times they do it because every time it's a different dynamic (and it's visible in this show). So be patient, and feel free to not like Lois at this point since she's just been introduced, regardless of what anyone else is saying.

2021-11-04 06:44:55 +0000 UTCAnd they showed Clark flying for the first time in the intro. Which you were to my disappointment less than impressed with :)

2021-11-04 06:36:14 +0000 UTCYeah I was thinking kind of the same thing. Here they are making them more like Oil and Water Friends to start. I was going to say that he should probably slow the roll a bit with Lois and I had thought the same with Lex being Clark's full on Arch Nemesis. It is a 10 season show so it's more slow burn and the way he's talking makes it sound like he expects the writers to have Clark marry Lois, become Superman and be fighting Lex by the end of the season or something. She's only been here 2 episodes. I'm exaggerating a bit but the point stands.

2021-11-04 06:17:05 +0000 UTCLike last week, Lois is more of a slow burn in terms of character growth. She's great to see as she is actually Clark's counterpart from the comics but in the context of the show, she's a bit brash and puts herself into the ways of others for what she wants (a trait of a good reporter imo). It's fine if you're not a fan of her, I'd just say keep an open mind and see where the story goes. We saw a little bit of depth that Lois has today and she and Clark have a long way to go in their relationship as they are clearly not even really friends at this point, more like inconveniences.

2021-11-04 06:16:13 +0000 UTCLois is not here as replacement for Lana which is how i feel you are taking it lol clark and lois have a lot of maturing to do still, she not introduced as a love interest exactly here. remember this goes on for 6 more season so yes i would hope every character here changes in that time. Also again limit superman knowledge Sam lane (lois dad) has been in the military since the 1980 both on tv and comics, so no they did not change that.

2021-11-04 06:05:19 +0000 UTCI find it kinda of amusing that Steven's thoughts on Lois are nearly identical to Clark's at the moment.
