This was a promising idea, but failed to fully connect with me. Even after a number of rewatches. This one is generally rated low. But I can totally appreciate, for those who do enjoy it more, why they would hold it in a slightly higher regard. It's not that it is an ostensibly bad episode necessarily. I think you highlighted a couple of reasons why it might have failed to reach a larger section of the audience. This is primarily a double feature series up to this point. Perhaps this story would have also benefited from that structure too.
