Just to be a bit more specific, Hydra didn't win because May didn't kill the girl. There was no reason Aida couldn't have constructed a world where the girl is helped. Hydra wins because Aida wants the world that way, and is corrupting the basis of the simulation, and her instructions, for her own agenda. With the world like this she can do more, control more, and get what she needs. May not killing the girl just allowed her to make the world into this.

May is the first person in the framework and the subsequent world was created from her greatest regret being changed. May has always regretted killing that little girl so in this world she didn't. She saved her and brought her over to the US where she killed a lot of people. The world decided that Shield was bad and Hydra took over "to make it safe" from inhumans. Aida is just going along with the world as it is. She's not particularly pro Hydra or Shield. She really just wants Fitz.

2021-11-08 02:00:43 +0000 UTCI love this arc, this is definitely my favorite arc in AOS, although I actually did like season 2 and 3 a lot as well. I don't think Aida chose Hydra, like she said she fixed a regret for everyone, what happens after that is not up to her, although I do believe she is doing more interference than she should be with Fitz. Adrianne Palicki(Bobbi) did get another TV show pretty much right after AOS The Orville which she's still on.
