2021-12-28 10:35:08 +0000 UTCWillow asking if Xander had “googled” Cassie is the first time google had been used as a verb on TV. And while there were probably people who said that before, some people consider this one of the things that popularized the term and made it a thing. Now, it’s a word that everyone uses. Kind of cool

2021-11-12 04:52:17 +0000 UTCI don’t think the guy was referring to Buffy when the one guy said “it was his idea”. I think he was talking to Buffy. As in saying to Buffy that summoning the demon was the other guys idea not his idea.

They were different people when they were turned. Liam was a no-good drunk who got in a fight every night, so when he turned, he became Angelus who only loved chaos and causing pain. Whereas William was a poet searching for love. So when he turned, he still wanted love, but being a demon couldn't feel it so went for the next best thing: Lust and obsession. Let's not forget as well that Darla got a literal baby for Angelus to eat to prove he was still a vampire after his soul, which says he's fed off a baby before. And the flashback in season 3 of him cornering a maid, that screamed sexual assault as well as feeding off her. It's harder for Spike because it was Buffy. And because we've seen him be good without a soul. But he wasn't, really. He was just helping kill demons for the violence he couldn't get elsewhere because of the chip. In season 5, he tried to get the chip out to go kill again. In season 6, when he thought the chip stopped working, he went back on the prowl instantly. His vision of love has always been warped into violence too. With Dru, he was obsessed and then when she broke up with him, his first instinct was to "Find her, wherever she is. Tie her up, torture her until she likes me again." He was straight toxic and violent with Harmony. Then with Buffy, he became the same thing again. Mistaking all this turmoil and obsession for love, something the human side of him wanted badly, but he couldn't truly feel it. The sad fact is, a lot of Spike stuff was played for comedy with him being "harmless", but if you watch it back... There's a lot of hints that he is still a demon and still acts the way an evil thing would. He just *couldn't* to a full extent. Now, he's got a soul. He's a completely different person, a mix of William and Spike. The same way Angel is different than Angelus and Liam. If Angel gets to be redeemed, so does Spike because guaranteed he's done the same, if not worse. That's my two cents anyway.

2021-11-11 21:57:07 +0000 UTCI love the end of this episode. "What do you do when you know you can't help?" Cuts to Buffy going back to work to try and help the next kid.

2021-11-11 21:42:35 +0000 UTCI love this episode. It's definitely one of my favourites from this season. Cassie is a great character, it would have been cool, if she has stuck around. I got reminded of your spin off comment with Dawn, and if that ever had been the plan, it should have totally had Cassie in it. Even if Cassie would have died anyway, I'm glad she didn't get butchered or eaten alive. In that way Buffy did make a difference, Cassie last minutes on this earth were better because of her. Spike to me is kind of like Angel. He killed Jenny, without his soul. It's harder for Spike (In the eyes of fans) because his attack directly impacted Buffy. But he has a soul now, so just like with Angelus/Angel, we technically have Spike/William. We just still call him Spike (which is his soulless name). But I'm curious to see what your feelings will be about it all after this season is over.

2021-11-11 20:39:18 +0000 UTCThe actress who plays Cassie is also in Smallville. Also I think this is the first episode in television where "Googled," when referring to the search engine, is used as a verb.

2021-11-11 19:58:48 +0000 UTCCassie is the one of the few characters that Buffy can't save because she dies from a medical complication. Something she can't fight. It's interesting that as they're talking about it at the end you can see Joyce's picture in the background.
