The conversation Gabby had with Matt was just to clear the air. Just because nothing was said or brought up doesn’t mean that conversation didn’t need to happen. Situations like Matt and Gabby can get complicated if there are no clear boundaries which is why she said there was no expectations for a relationship besides friendship. She didn’t stick by his side and help him mourn so that she could date him.

They are all grown women who had drinks throughout the day to help their friend take her mind off losing her husband, why didn't they umber or take a cab, especially since everyone was drinking. Instead they decided to drive while intoxicated.
