I feel so bad for Leonard, growing in that environment would be so crippling, I can't even imagine the emotional underdevelopment and scarring that would come from that environment. Regarding the options I would give you number 3. If he ever told her, his mom would probably judge him and her and make some comment that would upset him. Why would he subject himself to her psychobabble.
