I remember hearing someone saying that , when we watch this show, we expect that everyone else is a bad guy/person. But these ppl aren’t genuinely bad. The bad people in this show are Joe and Love. They are the villains. Imagine this in Matthew’s perspective. Everyone thinks he killed his wife and he knows that he didn’t do it. He has Love and Joe continuously checking up on him, because he’s lost his wife. He’s not going to know right away that Love killed Natalie. Matthew just wants to know what happened. As the audience, we know what happened. I love that this show brings out important topics we need to think about as a society. Why is it so easy for Joe and Love to get away with this murder? Why does the media care so much about white woman Natalie? Im on no one’s side. But I like that it shows the importance of the real world. We don’t know everyone deep down. We don’t know what ppl are capable of.

Like, he did get himself into this situation for nearly killing Henry (reckless endangerment is a real criminal charge), but for Love to concoct a plan and for Joe to follow that through is so sick and twisted. But, it also painted them as the ultimate partners - that's why Joe helped Love the way he did. Tati Gabrielle plays Marianne (pronounced Mary Anne). The show wants you to understand him - not forgive him or be on his side.
