What somebody else said, but the actual law is that if somebody is removed via 25th Amendment, they are no longer President and their only remedy is Congress finalizing the removal at a later date. What Prescott was saying is that Palmer would have the chance to argue his side to Congress to get his job back.

He had so many memorable quotes in this episode from that speech he gave to everyone "Take a good look. Do I seem scared? Am I breaking into a nervous sweat? Am I babbling? At a loss for words? Is my voice shaking? Can any one of you look me in the eye and tell me I'm disabled?" The way Dennis delivered that speech is a powerful president moment and the way he let all these betrayers put their jobs on the line if he is correct about Jack Bauer. This is actually a huge moment for Jack and David's friendship as well because David is truly putting all his faith in this one man based on how much he believes in him. When David found out about Mike and told him he's the President to not call him by his first name, I was cheering! Dennis Haysbert as David Palmer was the MVP of this episode and to many people he was the first Black President we watched in general (fictional/real) and episodes like this just made me proud to see how the writers wrote so well for him. He is just a strong character and portrayed by a strong actor which helps make everything believable.

2021-11-19 14:14:50 +0000 UTCWhat is happening with Palmer sucks, but I get it. I hate politics, and don't claim I understand them, nor do I want to. From what I assume though...These others don't know Jack, and even if they did, there is nothing to back up what he is saying is true. In fact, every area of the government has said that the evidence they have is true, so to not react after a nuclear bomb I assume would make the country look like even more of a target. Look... they get bombed and don't retaliate, looks like we are safe, and maybe more countries try to join in. (again... just an assumption, but there has to be a reaction to a nuclear bomb) There has to be evidence. They have evidence though. It may be fake, but they have what has been authenticated as real. As for voting Palmer out. I think what was said was that he can try to have the decision of him being voted out reversed in four days. That Vice President is President until then. By then, all the urgency decisions of the moment will be done. Whether for good or for bad, that will be done. And those who voted David out, if the evidence was faked, as Jack, Palmer, and we think it was, will be feeling very stupid. Think it all depends on if Jack can find the evidence. If not, no one is going to believe it. Great reaction! Thanks!!!
