Lanie knowing Kate so well knows it would be best to let Kate tell her first. There's obviously a reason for Kate to hid it but it's Lanie so she would mess with her a bit.

2021-11-24 11:49:48 +0000 UTCHaha i love this episode ! It brings some much needed levity especially after the last 2 episodes. I don’t know if this was ever confirmed by the writers but I always assumed that Lanie knew about their relationship in this episode. Being her best friend and knowing what the situation was like between them just a few weeks earlier, it would not have been hard to put the pieces together. And I think she tested her theory in the morgue and got her answer from their reactions alone. Kate’s panicked look and Castle’s nonchalance instead of his usual jealousy were probably enough to confirm her theory. I think she only let Kate off the hook because she assumed that she would come to her when she was ready to talk about it. That’s just a thought though and I would be curious to know what other people think about it ;) I’ll say it again, this season is truly amazing and I can’t wait for you to react to more episodes !!

Someone either kept hearing the end of conversations between Castle and Beckett or they would say something that could clearly apply to them. I think Castle was so flustered with Kristina that he didn't know what to do so he just said yes but it worked out because it enabled Castle and Beckett to have the talk at the end to set their boundaries. It is also different because this is the first time we get to see Beckett be vulnerable in a relationship. We've always known of her relationships but with Castle we get to see Beckett in a new light. You have an interesting theory about who finds out first about them. You are right though, the title does tie in with the case for next week and what is happening with Castle and Beckett. Next episode is a sweet episode for many reasons.
