I pointed this out before, but maybe you missed it so I'll mention again - Angela's friend is Ray Anne, not Rayna. Rayanne Graff. Every time you call her Rayna it makes me think of the show Nashville :-) The comment about men making snow in the mountains refers to, I think, the people who make the fake snow at ski resorts. This show takes place in Pittsburgh, so it's not that far from the Pocono mountains where there are lots of ski resorts.

Angela got really angry at Brian because all she heard was him calling Jordan stupid which she took offense to because of the whole literacy thing. As far as the target audience for this show, I don't know what the producers and network intended but it definitely hit with the people (particularly girls) born between about 1976 and 1981. Aka, people close to high school age when this aired. There was a think piece a number of years back about what are now sometimes called the Xennials, (the micro generation on the cusp of Gen X and Millennials), that tried to name the people born in those years Generation Catalano. I think if they'd gone instead with My So-Called Generation it might have stuck. On a personal note, today I realized I am older than Angela's parents. I don't quite know how I feel about that. *pulls up IMDB* Wow, and Claire Danes is also older than her mom was supposed to be on this show. And holy shit, Jared Leto will be 50 next month. And now I officially feel old.
