Well, at lest they did something episodes before at the beginning of the season when Brittany got the highest score on an exam and Sam the lowest, but the way they went into it this episode was absurd and out of nowhere yes

2021-12-02 22:47:42 +0000 UTCSeason 1 ended at Regionals (with a loss), so I wasn’t surprised that they turned it around with a win at Season 4. I really thought the Hoosierdaddies should have won, because ND’s choreography was a mess AND the Hoosierdaddies had better songs. I hate the Ryder/Unique catfish storyline. I feel like I’m always so negative about these things, but I gotta call out harmful storylines when I see them. The way this paints trans women as naturally deceitful and tricking someone is so disappointing, because it’s already a stereotype that gets trans women murdered. Seeing how Ryder reacted in the choir room was also super uncomfortable to watch because of the actor being abusive to Melissa Benoist (Marley) and the violence that trans women face when they attempt to date cis men. It’s just a mess and made me deeply uncomfortable with the writers going with this storyline. I say all of this because it informs how I react to any given storyline. But, on to better stuff. I’m a sucker for Klaine, so I am actually excited about Blaine proposing to Kurt, regardless of how it goes down. I wish they could have built it better so it wasn’t just something inserted in the last two episodes, however. But, it’s a big romantic gesture to get the love of his life back, and I have to respect that!

2021-11-24 10:23:44 +0000 UTCRegarding your comment regarding Finn's absence no Cory wasn't hard to work with or have contract issues but he was dealing with personal issues during this time (Cory had went to rehab). Unfortunately Cory would end up passing away during the summer break prior to the start of filming Season 5. There is a Finn Tribute episode next season (Season 5 Episode 3). The Finn Tribute episode I think might be hard to review simply because you will see that the cast members weren't acting but showing their real emotions with very few comedic/"over the top" lines said in the episode. I don't want to spoil the storylines for that episode but just worth noting ahead of time that Cory was friends with all the cast members but particularly close to Lea (Rachel) who was Cory's real life girlfriend at the time he passed away (they started dating during the filming of Season 3 of Glee)/were close friends before they started dating and Cory was also close friends with Naya (Santana), Chord (Sam), and Mark (Puck). People definitely have opinions towards Season 5. I personally think Season 5 is better than Season 4 but at the same time I feel like there are stories that were clearly rewritten due to Cory's passing,

2021-11-24 06:03:41 +0000 UTCThe episode didnt seem like an ending because they split the school year between season 4 and 5. Next season picks up with the rest of the school year. Many of the unanswered questions will be answered early next season. I like season 5 better than season 4. I personally enjoy the second half of the season the most but everyone has their very strong opinions about season 5. Some love the first half and hate the second half. Like Lauren said Heather Morris was pregnant. She is actually showing in the episode if you look closely though they did a good job of hiding it but she would be too far along when season 5 started to continue.

2021-11-24 05:28:39 +0000 UTCHeather Morris (Brittany) had to leave due to her being pregnant at the time. I gotta say I hate this storyline of Brittany being a genius out of nowhere. It seemed like maybe she was starting to get a little bit smarter towards the end of season two, but they kept the dim-witted personality going so it doesn't make sense that she's just a scientific genius with no real build up. This is also basically the last episode for Sam Larsen (Joe) and Vanessa Lengies (Sugar). I thought the setlist for the New Directions was good, but I feel like The Hoosierdaddies were better. There are times when I question how ND win at certain times, not that I don't love them, but their competition is usually better from choreography alone which our team always seems to lack at.
