I think what makes Mikael such a great villain is the way he is able the complete vitriol that drives all of his actions. It is unadulterated hatred, and it is relentless. He was always a rageful abusive brute before he was a vampire, and that was magnified. And once Esther was murdered, he had a single motivation to live, learning to feed on vampires in the process. His insistence that Niklaus is an abomination that must be terminated from existence is such a pathological overreaction... Idk it's fascinating. Yeah, and it was actually pretty messed up of them to leave Marcel there. I understand that they did really try to save him and then ultimately saved himself, but no doubt, that's why there was a little bit of hostility coming from Marcel towards the Mikaelsons in the beginning of the show. Others might say he reaped what he had sown, but eh... I think Rebekah was worse in this situation. She had known Klaus for much longer than Marcel had and grew up with him, i.e. she knew how awful he specifically was to him, and it was her idea. I actually feel bad for Marcel, even though he clearly turned it around for himself in the end. Also, I agree about how easy and quick Mikael was killed on The Vampire Diaries. Finally, Klaus' happiness was also surprising and incredibly unsettling, which makes the betrayal that much stronger.

2021-11-27 01:01:41 +0000 UTCI think Klaus has definitely generational trauma from his parents (which also means some behaviors are very much alike), but he is not entirely his father. Him feeling betrayed is a) actually justified, b) he wants to end it quickly and not drag it out over centuries and just toy with them and c) you should definitely wait for the next episode that really concludes this entire arc in a satisfying way.

2021-11-25 12:58:56 +0000 UTCU mean the wonderful mother who sat back and watched Mikael physically and emotionally tortured Klaus while keeping him from the father who would’ve loved him. She knowingly allowed this man to beat another man’s child to death numerous times she got what she had coming

2021-11-25 09:59:13 +0000 UTCSo lets understand (not justify) michael for a sec. before he was turned into a vampire, he indeed felt a great betrayal by his wife when she laid with another man (beast) and bore the beast’s i.e werewolf’s child. That feeling of betrayal also developed into hatred towards the result of that betrayal i.e his step son Niklaus. When he was turned into a Vampire all of those feelings heightened exponentially. Therefore we have “The Destroyer”, “The Monster That Monsters Feared” Michael Mikaelson The Vampire Who hunts Vampires

2021-11-25 09:13:15 +0000 UTCCamille is so instrumental in this show because her convos with klaus is what peels back the layers of klaus for the audience and this show utilizes that soooo fucking well. Plus the actress who plays Camille is absolutely incredible. I love watching all this with you after almost a decade because i dont remember alot of the plot and episodes & its just soo fun watching again. This ep for me is between a 9 & a 10

2021-11-25 09:07:12 +0000 UTCWhile Mikael is indeed hurt by his wife cheating on him and Klaus not being his biological son, he has two larger issues with Klaus. One of which is his general hatred of werewolves since they killed his other son, Henry. And the other reason is Klaus personally murdered his wife, Esther. His own mother.
