I love this episode. It's a nice light laugh after all the heavy episodes we've had. And it's a nice little call back to early seasons storyline.

This is without a doubt the worst episode this season imo, and one of only two I don't love, but it's hilarious in parts so it gets a pass for being so dumb lmao.

AllieDoh

I think that's fair. It's a fun dumb episode and the weakest of the entire season.

It's so dumb it's fun. And we're still early in the final season. Let them have one corny fun episode!

Reed James

It is dumb, but it's also hysterical at times. I find it very entertaining, especially Buffy's foiled attempt to kill Robin. The Dawn dynamic wouldn't have worked at all in earlier seasons since she's just the right age now to be able to pull it off. They could have done something similar without her, of course, but it might not have come off so well. Her involvement made for some entertaining sister moments.

It’s an inessential episode as far as the overall plot and it would be totally understandable if you skipped it on a rewatch. But on the other hand, it’s pretty funny with some good gags and a throwback to the early season, monster of the week, high school years of the show. And if we are back to focusing on the high school then it makes sense to have an episode like this. I find it entertaining enough though to be a decent episode

So...Dawn being willing to kill herself just to show a boy how much she cares for him wasn't serious to you?

This episode is so dumb, but it cracks me up, ngl. Willow's delivery of "Hecate hates that" kills me every time.

Andrea

This episode is pretty damn silly imo, too. But yes definitely funny. The Buffy I know and love balances both funny and serious and there was nothing serious about this one lol.

Here's an example: Steven, you periodically seem distracted with your phone and miss things in the episode- it's starting to really affect my enjoyment of your reactions.

Alexis Cardarella

Jesus, there continues to be some super passive aggressive comments. Could you people be direct/straightforward in a respectful fashion with him or just don't watch his reactions?

Alexis Cardarella

"Why is Anya just with us like we're good now again?" - The episode didn't jump over that. It was the opening scene. You missed the convo that explains it because (of course) you were looking at your phone. Again. Spike is with them because he has a soul now. And has been steadily going crazier and crazier in the school basement. You seem to have a hard time grasping the concept that ensouled Spike is a legit good guy now. That's why they brought him to Xander's now. The Xander love spell from season 2 that you're thinking of was titled "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered".

This is my least favorite episode of the season. So, it's uphill from here (imo).

If you rewatch the scene with Buffy and Anya, you will see that Buffy told Anya that she doesn't want her friends out there alone because something bad is happening and Anya agreed to come back to the gang and help ... You were on your phone and missed it. ...

I thought it was very funny. the bit with Buffy, Spike and a rocket launcher gets me every time(BTW, this is the same rocket launcher they used to kill The Judge in season 2, that's how she has it.) The whole thing is the episode making fun of all those teen high school drama tv shows and high school romcoms, so it's intentionally stupid and exaggerated. Plus this was perfect timing to do a light and funny one off episode after all the darkness and seriosness of season 6 and first 6 episodes of season seven before we dive deep into the main plotline of the season.

I love this episode it's so fun and hilarious
