Does anyone hate you over this?? I don’t think so. I think most of us agreed with your reaction to Rory getting tough love from Lorelai. I don’t think Luke was right about Lorelai being childish about this. He’s right that he’s in the middle but Lorelai is DEFINITELY doing the right thing. Rory has skated through life as a princess and she’s just falling back on being a doted spoiled girl right now. She can’t see it but Lorelai giving her tough love is what she needs. I didn’t notice when I was a kid and I didn’t rewatch these episodes after that cuz I didn’t like how Rory was acting. But Emily is an elitist AND racist. Never noticed that until now...

Judging from many threads on Reddit. It’s insane how they attack Lorelai and feel bad for E&R, that when they were young they were on Lorelai’s side but as they got older they took E&R’s side. Yikes. Like really, they’re annoying af, rude, entitled and don’t ever try to look at things from other people’s view it’s ALL about them. Emily fiering the made because Rory was having a nice conversation with her in Spanish is disgusting. No seriously, I have a hard time understanding how people can take their side

She knows what her grandparents are like and she still chose to live with them under their rules. She chose to quit Yale because of one man's harsh opinion, even though her mom and Paris warned her about it. Lorelai is finally giving her the tough love that she so apparently needs.

Also, this season is not my favourite but I was disliking Rory for some time now so this always will be one of the highlights I came back to on my re-watch

I honestly know nothing about the organization, others than what I have seen on this show, but as far as I know, it has nothing to do with a political party. It's not republican or democrat, its strictly historical. If you have a historical ancestor who was a patriot of the American Revolution. Hence, "Daughters of the American Revolution". They get pretty serious about having documentation for it too. Have to prove you have an actual patriot ancestor. There is no bad remarks about Paul Anka... Just for future reference. People love Paul Anka. Paul Anka is beloved. Okay, maybe it's just me, but how can you not?!? Best pup in the world. And how could Lorelai have any other. She needs the nutcase of all dogs. As for Emily and her staff, she didn't like Rory engaging with the maid. Whether that is because she doesn't think the staff should be treated nicely, or that maybe she has never been able to get along with them like Rory was, I haven't the slightest idea. No idea why she treats maids like she does. Rory communicating with someone Emily thought was unable to communicate, in my opinion was unacceptable. She couldn't even understand that it was Spanish... (Just as an FYI, Alexis Bledel who plays Rory is fluent in Spanish. Spanish is actually her first language) Emily fired that maid BECAUSE she was talking to Rory. She then hired another maid (I'm inferring here...) on the understanding that Rory probably doesn't speak this language, and probably letting her know on hiring that the last maid got fired for speaking to Rory. Can't think of any other reason for the dirty look, other than the understanding that Rory was the cause of the last maids firing. And yes, Emily is majorly racist. No getting around that one.

2021-12-01 06:15:40 +0000 UTCI am with you on rooting for how Lorelai is handling this, in the past she’s been childish about things but not this time because this is a big deal. Rory does kinda suck right now, but it’s a growth process that she has to navigate through. Living with Emily is the best karma because she always sucks worse than anyone else. I love that Luke spoke his truth, it’s been obvious from day 1 that he loves and cares about Rory. He may not be her Dad but he’s always been the male influence in her life, long before Richard was fully involved (Richard sucks too but to me he’s more lovable than Emily). Anything involving TJ is going to be a shitshow and I’m here for it 😂😂 Rory is definitely a Democrat, I have no idea what the political status is of the DAR (or it’s purpose or function) but Emily & Richard are Republicans (it’s mentioned in the flashback episode of a teenaged Lorelai, sad I remember that lol). Can I also point out that that “fight” scene was absolutely trash, they didn’t even try 😒
