Rebekah's monologue still makes me cry until this day. It is indeed very sad. And I wasn't surprised by the Marcel/Rebekah thing because it was history repeating itself. Time and time again, Marcel has chosen the city over Rebekah. He would never leave this city. Also, while I do think they love each other very much, I do think that parts of Marcel and Rebekah were holding onto fantasies of the past - trying to reignite that passionate once-in-a-lifetime love. However, I think they both realize that the us-against-the world thing would not meet either of their needs at the moment. Also, am I the only one who was quite irritated at Elijah in the end? lol He just really got on my nerves. And for someone who condemns Klaus, (and often, rightfully so) he is a lot like him, as Klaus pointed out. He was quite literally going to kill him in TVD.

2022-01-09 22:58:24 +0000 UTCTbf, I feel like the present versions of Rebekkah and Marcel weren't all that into the romance. I'm not saying there wasn't something there, but not compared to the ones in the past. So them not sticking together in leaving isn't too crazy.
