I absolutely love that Phil doesn't make a big deal out of the kiss. He just goes upstairs. It's one of the best moment of Phil for me. So many men in shows would get defensive or something. So, this was such a nice change and was a big moment of love for Phil to me.

In addition to the credits you named, he has often acted with the brilliant and hilarious Nathan Lane (who plays "Pepper" on Modern Family -- you recognized him as the voice of Timon), especially in the musical The Producers onstage and onscreen. He has said that he was delighted to be offered this role, because Nathan Lane had already been on several times, and he wanted the chance to play too.
