They got both for the finale, Billy Zane playing the killer, and Val Kilmer to play an officer mentioned all the time throughout the series but never seen on screen. When they ended they didn't have a specific film planned, but they stated it is what they wanted to do after a break.

2021-12-08 01:44:00 +0000 UTCOMG THAT'S SUCH AN AMAZING FINALE!!! Makes you feel so good and emotional but happy and nostalgic and sad and everything. Gah, I still can't get over this episode. And yes, that was a Monk reference. I really REALLY wish you'd react to Monk next as a Psych replacement. I do LOVE that Lassie chose not to see the ending of the video too. I really love that while we had a BIG Juliet and Shawn moment, even sweet Shawn/Henry and Shawn/Lassie moments, this episode was mostly about Shawn and Gus, which is what made this show so special. I can't wait to watch the 3 movies with you. I haven't even watched the 3rd newly released one on my own. Thanks for going through this ride with us Steven!! This was such a special show and I'm glad to be able to rewatch it here with you 😊

2021-12-07 13:39:01 +0000 UTCOfficer Dobson is mentioned all the time when the characters (particularly Lassie) are speaking to someone off camera. I don’t have the exact number, but it’s a lot. I also love that Lassie didn’t watch the end of the video! Just so you know as you go into the movies: Lassie’s actor had a stroke shortly before filming, causing him to be unavailable for shooting. The film had to be partially rewritten without Lassie being involved. Just thought you should know so you have perspective and are not confused! :]
