The eeriest thing is that Cory and Naya share the same date of death, July 13. While the internet mentions Naya as being July 8,(the day she vanished), her death certificate oficially states July 13th, 7 years apart. BTW, there's another version of "Seasons of love" where Cory and Brittany sing that was supposed to be used for the graduation episode but was discarded.

This is the first time I had rewatched this episode after my Father passed away last year; it was soo sudden and we didn't get a chance to say goodbye. It really hit hard, seeing all the stages of grief, reminding me of my own. A beautiful tribute to such a person and the character he portrayed.

I was crying the moment the first song started. I think this is only the 2nd time I've watched this episode cuz it's too tough for me. By the time Kurt started talking about going back to Lima, I was full on sobbing. Naya's performance was just so chilling. The last time I saw or heard it she was still alive and I was crying because Naya had such a special friendship with Cory and her grief and that breakdown was real. But now, that song, that first line...Man, I'm so heartbroken. I can't believe she's gone too. Cory was so loved by the whole cast and Naya was so loved by the whole cast. It's just too much. Finn's mom saying that she's still a mom but she doesn't have a child anymore just BROKE me. Man, this episode...so tragic, so real, so tough. Can't believe I'm watching this on Christmas lol. So sorry for your loss, David. Sometimes it takes a long time to understang what happened and grieve especially when you were a kid. I'm glad you didn't hold back though.

I was looking forward to this episode. You talked at the end of it about how fans all have those 'moments' that just stand out in their mind from the show and that mean so much to them and for me one of those moments is Naya singing 'If I Die Young'. I thought when we got to that part I would break down crying but I only made it about five seconds into seasons of love before I started bawling and couldn't stop all episode. I also appreciate you sharing the story about your father with us. My father just passed away three weeks ago and it was so sudden. I spoke to him the day before and both of us mentioned we had bronchitis at the moment so we were commiserating over that. Next day suddenly i'm at work and get a phone call he's at the hospital and I need to give permission for them to treat him and within hours he was gone. Obviously my situation is a bit different from yours because as you mentioned you were a young child and I'm an adult, but since that day it really has changed the way I look at life and death and has me treasuring each moment, relationship and day. This episode hit me in a way it never had before watching it after losing someone so close to me for the first time in my life. I think so many of us are so happy that Glee is your baby and just know that for so many of us you watching and reacting to Glee is our baby and it means so much for us to be able to share this experience with you.

Its soo soooo erie to me when Mark sallings character is singing and when he stops naya walks in and they start having a convo.

Cory was never difficult. He was a kind soul who loved and cared for everyone he met and they loved him too. He just had his own demons that unfortunately ended up taking his life. This episode still makes me sob but I'm so glad they handled this episode with the care that it needed. And thank you David for sharing your heart with us. I too lost my dad at a young age.

Thank you for sharing your personal story, David. It's very much appreciated. I'm so sorry for your loss!

Cory was entering rehab towards the end of season 4 and they were planning on just writing him out until he got out of rehab. But the he accidentially overdosed and so they decided to do a tribute episode for Finn. This is still the saddest episode of the show for sure.

There is a really beautiful interview Lea Michele did on Ellen after Corey died where she explained why she wanted to go back to work and do this episode and she also sings her song she wrote just after he passed. Definitely worth a watch

i can only put a 10! even if it wasn't perfect, it was uncomfortable at some parts, but i actually think they did kind of a good job at portraying different reactions to grief! (even the "unusual "ones) it's just raw emotions, raw reactions from the cast and seeing how cory/finn was so important to everyone at glee, i can't complain over anything! btw the songs were really beautiful and lea michele was so strong starting season 5 like nothing happened and being in this tribute episode (so is the entire cast) (i also feel like if lea was okay with this episode and so was cory's family, then it's perfect)

I was looking forward to you seeing this episode. When I saw it pop up, I didn't want to watch it. Now that I have, I surprised even myself when I unconsciously said out loud as it ended, "never again". Just cannot handle this episode. I sob throughout the entire thing. Not saying it wasn't a good episode. It is powerful and beautiful. It was a perfect tribute to Finn... And Cory. I just cannot handle that raw emotion. Especially knowing that none of it was acting. I don't doubt those tears for a second. And I heard that Naya's breakdown was genuine. That wasn't scripted. Makes it even harder to watch. Everything said... I don't see myself watching this episode again. May revisit songs by themselves, but the episode as a whole is just too much.

Thank you for being so open about your personal loss. I cried so much throughout this whole episode - it's wild how emotional this watching experience will always be for me. This was the fourth full episode of Glee I've ever watched. I watched the Season 2 premiere and the Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston episodes, all live. Then news of his death broke and I was absolutely heartbroken and confused. How could this person who I didn't know, have such a heavy impact on me? I wasn't sure what it was about him or if I was just upset at a life gone soon. All in all, he was actually the reason I decided to watch Glee, from the beginning, all the way through. I wanted to get to know him, I guess? Even if it was through his character and like, cast interviews, I wanted to spend the time with him I didn't have? I don't know. I thought it was super weird at the time, and it might still be weird now. But that's how I reacted to his loss at the time. Other people can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Lea asked to not be in most of the episode since she was with him in real life. Lea has a song about the aftermath of his death called "If You Say So." It's devastating and even harrowing, but worth the listen in my opinion.

thank you for being open with us about your loss and how you connected with this episode. deeply sorry for your loss. this episode no matter how many times i’ve watched it will always make me cry. like i even told myself going into this that i wasn’t going to cry then boom tears are strolling down my cheeks. finn was my favorite character aside from quinn, and so it really hurts. i miss him, i miss cory. cory was a very nice person irl. hearing the cast talk about him and watching him in interviews really showed how sweet he was. so basically in march/april of 2013 he checked into rehab because he relapsed into his drug addiction that he had when he was a teenager. the end of april he got out, and then in july he went to canada and sadly relapsed again:/ it was very sad and abrupt. him and rachel were together in real life so she was very heartbroken over it

spoiler alert, it never gets easier to watch this episode... i watched it live, and rewatched it a few times, i always cry like a baby

leslie martin

i'm sure jenna was really uncomfortable with this too since she was friend with cory in real life... so sad for her, and for all of them

leslie martin

This episode is definitely the hardest episode of Glee to watch because it is clear the cast wasn't acting. Much of what was shot for the episode was done in one take because the cast had a hard time shooting this episode. This episode is even harder to watch now because of Naya's passing, her bigger role in this episode because of her real life friendship with Cory, and the song she sings in this episode ("If I Die Young" was a great cover but definitely hard to listen to now). Lea's performance is hard to watch knowing her and Cory were together at the time of his death. The one thing about this episode I would've changed is Tina's scene with Emma. This episode was a great tribute for Cory/Finn but the one thing that is out of place is Tina's scene. Every time I've watched this episode since it originally aired I skip over Tina's scene. If I was Jenna I would've been mad and uncomfortable if I saw what she had to say as Tina in the script for this episode.
