Totally agree with you that while I like the Office and watched it when it was on, I think it’s overrated in the sense of how people seem to like worship it. The cringe humor and how the people that work at Dunder Mifflin seem to not like each other isn’t as enjoyable or fun to watch as Parks and Rec. Where the office is kind of cynical and mean spirited in its humor, Parks is hopeful and the gang all seem to really care for each other. To me that’s more fun to watch. So while the lead of the office Michael Scott is a self centered doofus, the lead of Parks is Leslie Knope a selfless, relentlessly upbeat and optimistic person. And to me that makes all the difference.

Cute April moment though, she noticed that Chris was being oblivious around Jerry and then stole his keys. April does nice things if she thinks no one will find out about it. And whipped cream is to Leslie as meat is to Ron. A small dollop would not cut it. The Office is more cynical and cringe. The first season and half of Parks are more similar to the office, before they make Leslie more competent and driven. For me parks has more heart and is more positive in what it is from the third season on, but it's really a matter of taste. I like both, but prefer Parks because I find the world and characters more endearing. I also enjoyed the UK Office which is super cynical and cringe, no holds barred, because Ricky Gervais does not have the redeeming charm that Steve Carell does.
