Yes, just wanted to state that, they were dating at the time. I think you looking at their relationship through the popculture lens. I believe their relationship cause I had same with my man, we were never big on PDA, I can not even remember if we ever kissed in public in our 14 years together, but behind doors we were best friends and our chemistry was through the roof! Last trip we took together we went to Beliz and Mexico by car for 10 days it was only two of us the whole trip and one would think we could run of things to talk after 14 years together. Not the case :) When I look at the Shawn and Jules I literally see us and I believe their relationship to the t. I would not believe if Shawn would all of the sudden start doing kissy faces and all that mushie staff

2021-03-16 04:52:15 +0000 UTCYeah, pretty sure they were still dating by this point. I think they broke up either in season 8 or after the show ended. Not 100% sure tho. Shawn and Jules' relationship never bothered me because it always felt like it was supposed to be an off-screen thing.

"The everyday lives and domestic problems of ordinary middle-class people are the focus of Simon’s plays, which examine his characters’ marital and other dilemmas and, for comic effect, play up the incongruity of their situations." Which that kind of describes the situation Shawn and Jules find themselves in during their "lover's retreat". :) I never thought anything of their relationship not being forefront, or more of a storyline, than what it is. I always thought the main relationship in this show was Shawn and Gus lol. But since you've pointed it out, yeah we don't see much of their relationship outside of the police station or cases they're working. It never bothered me, personally, though.
