2023-02-08 01:53:44 +0000 UTCi never understand why brittany was not the one singing "i kissed a girl" with santana?? rachel was good of course, but brittany would have been more fitting imo

2021-06-13 20:27:45 +0000 UTCBlame the writers?? I do and I can blame Finn also. It’s called multi tasking. If that’s the outlook you have that means we can’t criticize any character on this show because technically everything is the writers. That’s not fair at all. At some point we have to hold the characters accountable regardless of the writing. The entire show is badly written, that’s not an argument. I would understand if this was an isolated incident with Finn, but it isn’t. This isn’t the first instance of Finn being homophobic. He called Kurt the f slur in season 1 and was unreasonably uncomfortable around him throughout the season. He also acted like Kurt was predatory in the Duets episode and wanted Sam to be wary of him. That’s textbook homophobia. Honestly, just because someone isn’t screaming “I HATE GAYS” doesn’t mean they can’t be homophobic. Also, I’m sorry but being in the closet IS NOT THE SAME THING as being mentally ill. That’s a gross comparison and a fallacy. I don’t want to make assumptions of your sexuality, but if you were LGBT you would know the “gays are mentally ill” is a conservative alt right belief that homophobes use to justify homophobia and anti gay rhetoric.

2021-04-01 17:09:10 +0000 UTCThis whole episode is a bad take. How many times have we seen actual fights and no one got suspended? That is how it works in most schools, if you fight back you disregard the fight

2021-04-01 17:04:52 +0000 UTCIt seems like Glee typically is uploaded in the range of Sunday-Tuesday, depending on the week

2021-03-08 15:15:11 +0000 UTCAlso why not blame the writers for using Finn as a way to say/do some really crappy things? Other than a small handful of times, for the most part Finn is actually a good guy... Why only blame the writers for Santana being extra bitchy and not the writers for using Finn in that way? I feel like Glee watchers defined Finn with the few questionable moments that he has had, but never define Santana with the many, many times she has insulted all the characters. I love Santana and she's one of my favorite characters, but if you're all going to hate on Finn for a few terrible things he's done/said why not hold Santana to those same standards?? And with Santana being in the closet as an excuse to being a bitch... I'm going to reference a quote from Pete Davidson~ he said something along the lines of "being mentally ill is not an excuse to act like a jackass". Fine Santana deals with being in the closet by acting out, but why can't we then see Finn as someone who has extremely low self-esteem (which is true) and so when someone constantly goes after him he "acts" out by sometimes being a jackass. Let's hold ALL characters to the same standard and not set the standards higher than others...

2021-03-02 01:04:06 +0000 UTCThis did not redeem Finn for me, we're just to be so proud of him for doing this for Santana? He's basically blackmailing her into having him be her "savior" and that version of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun made me very uncomfortable. Even Naya (Santana) said in an interview she found it creepy. Her grandmother also made me mad, but it's a realistic situation I'm way too familiar with. Some of the songs were really good, but that's basically the only positive input I have to give on this episode.

2021-03-01 22:18:24 +0000 UTCI know my opinion is going to get some hate, but Finn is just someone who says the wrong thing at the wrong time... we've all been there where someone keeps on pushing and pushing us until we say something completely out of character. I've been there, but of course I have apologized when it happens to me and Finn definitely should've apologized but thats the writers' fault. And tbh Santana did constantly push Finn and always kind of insulted him, yes I know it was her way of dealing with her still being in the closet at the time, but to Finn he just sees it as someone who kept on hurling insults at him. Did that warrant him outing her in a public setting, no. But sometimes in the heat of the moment you don't think about the people around you and where you are. All you can think of is the anger building inside of you that causes you to say something insulting back at the person. I just think Finn does truly care for Santana and we have seen their close bond in the show, but the writers have a bad habit of having characters do some out of character shitty stuff just for the plot.

2021-03-01 21:00:38 +0000 UTCUnpopular opinion: I really love Finn's cover of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun but 100% because of Cory. Within the context of the show, it is HORRIBLE. But, I still play the cover on Spotify to this day! lol This episode was very entertaining music-wise, but incredibly problematic story-wise. Everyone above has already said why. Finn never apologized for outing her because "everyone knew," which is by far the worst reason I have ever heard writing-wise. They gave SO MUCH screentime for Finn just to coerce her into this weird Glee lesson about accepting herself? Very cringy to watch, if I am being honest. The reason why this episode wasn't a complete failure was because of Cory and Naya. They sold it and they did it well. I will never forgive the writers for completely botching Santana's coming out story though. I am slightly annoyed that Rachel sung lead along with Santana on I Kissed A Girl? Why not just give that to Brittany??? Make it make some sense@

2021-03-01 18:30:33 +0000 UTCBecause he doesn’t have to he didn’t say anything offensive
2021-03-01 13:52:23 +0000 UTCThis episode is frustrating. Mr schue trying to get Santana suspended after he’s broken up how many physical fights? Brittany and Santana didn’t have a single scene together and Brittany had nothing to say about the outing. While I appreciate Finn wanted to help Santana he still refuses to acknowledge that he did anything wrong in outing her, and that’s because the writers don’t think he did. They have puck minimize the situation by saying they were helping her with a secret everyone already knew and then paint Finn as a hero in this episode for “helping her come to terms with herself.” It’s very frustrating. Especially if you look at the way they handle Kurt and Karofsky vs Santana. Everything with the white, male gay characters is handled with so much care and sensitivity but Santana a lot of the times is treated like the butt of a joke. David, if you don’t read the rest of my comment please read this. You have asked us multiple times in your reactions that if you say something wrong or maybe offensive that we tell you. The last reaction had almost 30 comments responding to your comments about Santana being outed and it was very disappointing that you didn’t acknowledge them either in the comments or in this reaction. This is only one of many times that we have commented about something you’ve said that might’ve been hurtful, and you didn’t acknowledge it. It would be nice to know that you see the feedback and acknowledge it.

2021-03-01 10:30:49 +0000 UTCThis whole episode is a bad take. How many times have we seen actual fights and no one got suspended? And then Finn blackmails her into the lesson as some sort of savior after he outted her in the first place. And then the reason he gives is the most selfish reason ever. Not that he doesn't want her to hurt herself, but that he would feel guilty if she did. on the plus side, Naya was fantastic in this episode, even tho she didn't even have her own song. The two songs she sang were both duets and Brittany didn't say a darn thing about the whole incident. and they cut one of the best scenes which was Santana coming out to the Cheerios.

2021-03-01 05:36:46 +0000 UTCHate this episode. Finn was basically given the white savior complex edit even though he was the one that outed her. Out of the all the messed up things the writers have done, this entire episode was probably the worst writing for me in terms of how tone deaf the episode was & offensive. Making Santana thank the man that outed her? Barely having Brittany in the episode even though she plays a very important role in Santana’s entire sexuality journey & she’s also her whole gf? But yeah let’s have Finn sing some shitty cover of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun & make everything better 🙄

2021-03-01 05:23:36 +0000 UTCI have a love hate relationship with this episode. On one hand, I love a Santana-centered episode and the songs are great. On another, I hate how they portrayed Finn as a white knight who gave Santana the courage to be herself. To the point that she thanked him. Like hell no. He OUTED her. That's not okay. And the writers suck for this. The epispde infuriates me so i guess it's much more hate than love lol.
