2021-03-17 03:28:41 +0000 UTCThis is my favorite season. It's where it shows it's heart the most with Leslie and Ben. Also, with just how the whole group supports and loves Leslie. It's awesome. There is so much more to come. I can't wait until a few episodes from now.

The secret weapon of Parks is that it is so silly and over the top with the jokes that you don't realize how attached you are becoming the characters. You can have those moments when you find yourself surprised at how emotionally invested you've become in the story and relationships. The thing that ended up making this show more than just a clone of The Office is when they made what seems to have been a concerted effort to make the show really positive. It's literally like Leslie says, "Friends, Waffles and Work." It's a really funny show about fundamentally kind people who support and care about each other and work towards their goals. It's a formula that the show runner Mike Schur took forward into his later creation Brooklyn 99 and finally into what seems to be his personal opus The Good Place. It's episodes and moments like these or Andy and April's sweet wedding or Grand Canyon road trip that make all of the solid laughs stick with you.
