Ahh!! Can't wait to watch this. Such a bingeable series, though, so I think I'll wait until episodes 9 or 10 have been uploaded and just go nuts. Lol. It hasn't happened yet but this show has one of my ULTIMATE ships in all of fiction. They're in my top 10. They're sickeningly cute. Can't wait for you to react to the crazy that happens in Tree Hill.

Yes whenever I see people react to it, there is one prediction they all make that is WAY off lol. In many ways one tree hill can play up the teen show stereotypes but in even more it flips it and does a good job of being original.

This show is so good. My husband pretends to not like it but if he see's me watching it he will stay in the room and start asking questions. But then pretends again that he isn't interested lol.

The pilot is probably the weakest episode of the first season and probably the first 5-6 seasons. They definitely had some issues with character motivations and it takes a bit to get into the role, especially for teen actors, but that just means that it gets better with each episode.

I know some people have said that already, but One Tree Hill truly was the best teen drama of all time. It needs a few episodes to truly kick off, but once it does it is SO GOOD.

Right?! It really was fantastic. The CW just doesn't hold a candle to it imo. The 2000's decade in general just had some fantastic television though. Shows today seem to lack heart and they had it in spades in that decade. The WB shows in particular are kind of known for this. They all became classics with huge cult followings. I can't really name too many shows of this decade for that except maybe GoT and maybe the arrowverse shows. I'm probably forgetting some, but the shows today just don't seem to capture the same following those shows did.

I didn't vote for this show just because I didn't really think it would be to your tastes like some of the other shows on the list. However, I watched it when it originally aired, so I'll watch along again! This show is a bit like Gilmore Girls in tone. BTW the actor they hired for Nathan was on his high school's basketball team and I guess he was pretty good. That's why they cast him as Nathan. The guy who plays Lucus on the other hand was so bad they had to get a basketball coach just for him specifically. That's probably why they cut up the scenes of them playing so much. If you watch Nathan's scenes where he is playing with the team you'll see him actually taking shots. With Lucus...his scenes are always cut up even when he is playing earlier in the episode. One of the lores around the basketball stuff in the show is that the gym they are playing in is actually Michael Jordan's high school basketball gym. They filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina and that was one of the reasons the showrunner agreed to film there. I do think at least the first season of OTH was filmed in 4x3 aspect ratio. Maybe more seasons than that. I distinctly remember the first season being that way though. Anyway, not my first choice in shows. It's okay, but very teen oriented. We'll see how it goes. It does have some interesting dynamics and doesn't always go the way you think it's going to go. It does have some nice themes about family and friendship throughout.

I have never followed One Tree Hill actively just watched a few episodes throughout the years but from what I saw I can safely say it is pretty centered around the brothers' relationships (when I say brothers I'm talking about both generations) which is why that I find it fitting that the title of the show in french (in Quebec) is "Les Frères Scott" -> The Scott Brothers Also I think when Nathan said to Peyton that the bet was her, I think he meant that he realized that Lucas liked Peyton and he thought that if he joined the team Lucas would try to get Peyton since he would now be able to spend more time with her.

Great to have new reactors for One Tree Hill. Kind of surprised there aren't many reactors for it. One Tree Hill is considered to be one of the best teen dramas. So many characters end up having great character development. Season 1 is a pretty solid first season (especially for a teen centered show). Season 3 is widely considered to be the best season. My favorite seasons have always been Season 3 and Season 4. Interesting to hear the predictions both you had about certain characters and relationships. The show isn't as predictable as you think and there are some things that happen in the show you both will definitely be surprised about when they happen.

What will help you get through this show if you can't deal with the teen drama nonsense (sometimes it's grating) is if you know this show is actually about fathers and sons, and about brothers too so it'll be easier to relate on that front. So really pay attention to the Dan, Keith, Lucas, Nathan stuff because it will be rewarding later with all the small foreshadowing.. That's actually what made me realize this show isn't just for teens and made me realize it was good.
