2021-04-12 16:23:42 +0000 UTCI understand what you mean about feeling emphaty, but I know allot of guys that are like jess and have had a good childhood, and allot of people with worse childhood that are very nice people. I think jess just has a personality that needs a lot of dicipline. He is the way he is not because he has had such a hard life, but he needs dicipline, is how I see it. Mrs Kim could have made him into a good Guy!!

2021-04-07 17:15:23 +0000 UTCFor me, because I really like Jess, it's not like I like the messed up things he does or says, it's mostly the fact that I feel for him. There are a lot of people that aren't easy to like and he definitely doesn't make it easy. but as an audience member, we can see that his growing up has been tough. This show keeps giving us glimpses of what he's had to deal with, with his "parents" and often being left alone as a child, and it really affected the person he became as a teenager and now young adult. I think it's easy to root for the "good guy or girl" like Rory and Dean, (even though I wasn't a huge Dean fan. I didn't hate him or anything, just found him too controlling) but I also really root for Jess, because it's harder for him to receive that love. He wants it, but he's conditioned himself to be hard when it comes to emotions. That's how I see it. Again, not excusing his behavior, just trying to understand it and want him to receive that love and peace.

2021-04-06 23:40:05 +0000 UTCFun Buffy connection in this episode: Luke's sister is played by Kathleen Wilhoite, who is a singer/songwriter in addition to being an actress. Her song "Wish we never met," was in the Buffy episode 3x15 (Consequences). After Willow finds out that Xander slept with Faith, she goes into the bathroom and cries...this is the song playing over that scene.

2021-04-06 22:31:27 +0000 UTCI love that you hate Jess and that's weird as I was always a fan mainly of his and Luke's relationship. It's one of the most interesting ones (when they are actually showing it...). Jess in an asshole to Luke, but in the first episodes he was introduced they gave Liz and him a worse background story then it came out to be. When her character was introduced the show runners still wanted her to be likeable, so they made her whacky in order for us to forget that she couldn't take care of her own child and sent him away to Luke. So if Jess didn't have normal example until he moved in with Luke of course he's going to be an asshole with abandonment issues non the less and that's why he's pushing away everyone. Not to make excuses for him, that's just how it goes and it makes a character and his interactions interesting from a storytelling point. It sure is more interesting then Dean ever was or will be 😀

He was definitely smart enough for her and He never tried to change her or was scared of her like most guys seem to be. He loved her for who she is and she ditched him for a dude old enough to be her grandfather!

2021-04-06 14:46:39 +0000 UTCI loved Luke's speech about family. Because he's constantly trying to help all of them, no matter how many times they screw up, but he gets nothing in return. And I just wish people would show him more appreciation. Lorelai comforting him was cool too. The thing with Paris and the professor is something I never liked, but I guess it makes sense given that Paris has zero experience with relationships and that she would rather date somebody she can connect with intellectually makes sense too. it's still super weird though .. I get why you don't like Jess bc he always gets mean as a defense mechanism. He doesn't want anybody to know how he really feels, not even Luke. But he clearly didn't just come back for the car - he wanted to see Luke, to see Rory, to see how they're doing. He just can't show it properly.

2021-04-06 07:14:24 +0000 UTCParis is COLD! Jamie is a catch what the hell is she doing cheating on him with a freaking 60 year old! Gross! I feel really bad for Jamie. Liz is a bit two-faced to go behind Luke's back like that? I don't know, it kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Jess still has a lot of maturing to do! I really don't get the love for Jess. I like his good funny moments with Luke but his attitude most of the time just sucks! Side note: I really love Rory's wardrobe this season. She's got a cute sense of style.
