I've been watching this show for quite a few years now. Recently finished season 7. Man this show has changed a lot over the years. This pilot episode reminds me why I was hooked in the beginning. I feel like I've continued watching past a certain point due to my completionist tendencies. I miss my original desire to tune into each new episode.

2021-05-31 07:22:13 +0000 UTCPlease PLEASE tell me you will be reacting to the other DC shows as well once the time comes. Specifically Legends of Tomorrow, which starts in season 2 of The Flash.

2021-05-27 04:51:06 +0000 UTCmost of the villains are one a week so they may not stick around longer than that

2021-04-07 02:54:52 +0000 UTCSeason 1 of the Flash is an absolute masterpiece, and this is coming from someone who DESPISES the New 52 Barry Allen, upon whom this version is based. It miraculously finds the exact right balance of tones between silly, heartfelt, badass, and emotional, it's one of the few pieces of adapted media I've seen that actually embraces its goofier comic book roots to huge success, and it has one episode that genuinely makes me ugly cry every time I see it. That said... there is a significant drop off for me. Season 2 is just fine, and Season 3 was so goddamn awful it turned me off of the show forever. Judging by others' reactions, I guess it recovers after that, so I'm returning to it with an open mind, but... damn, that was such dip.

2021-04-06 15:46:27 +0000 UTCI think it's bc most of Oliver's relationships are only there to stir up drama and not so that he can find happiness. As David said in here: Barry and Iris look happy together, they have a foundation. With Oliver and Laurel/Sara/Helena/etc. it's been constant fighting and sex. Which makes sense, but it can turn annoying pretty quickly whereas Barry and Iris are an integral part of the main story here and they truly get each other.

2021-04-06 14:17:56 +0000 UTCyesss !! we're finally here .. glad to see you so excited. these small crossovers are a staple of the arrowverse to give you the feeling that they're in the same universe even more .. you liking iris and barry right from the get-go is SO ME haha .. the arrowverse starts with arrow obviously, but the flash made it as big as it is today and grant gustin is just the perfect barry allen. get ready for a wild ride :)

2021-04-06 10:24:50 +0000 UTCI am so happy that you are doing Flash. I know in Arrow you seem to be against most the relationships in the show but the fact that you actually want barry and iris together is much different side of you. Maybe its just that you dont like olivers player type personality and barry is more of a sweeter wholesome person

2021-04-06 10:23:08 +0000 UTCI too found the tone here quite refreshing after Arrow. I watched all of Arrow but never got into it like I did the more light-hearted Arrowverse shows (mainly The Flash and Supergirl's CW seasons) because it's so determined to be "dark and gritty." IDK why, I guess with their low-budget production values, I can't take it as seriously as it wants to be taken (like I can with, say, the Marvel Netflix shows), so I prefer the ones that embrace the whimsy more. Although I think Legends of Tomorrow pushed a little too far in that opposite direction for my tastes as well. Black Lightning and Superman & Lois have probably managed to strike the best balance of "grounded" and "still comic book-y" so far, I think, but the first couple seasons of this show definitely remain faves of mine. Looking forward to your reactions! Also, just a general thought - as a lifelong DC fan, I just feel the need to say...please don't judge the DC Universe by the Snyder version of it. That version is totally valid and has a devoted fanbase, so it's not my intent to knock it, but...I'll just say I don't consider it a definitive take on my favorite fictional universe and characters. They have a lot more to offer than that iteration might lead you to believe. For all the lackluster writing and production values that can plague these CW shows, I do feel like they often capture more of the spirit that made me fall in love with DC in the first place.

2021-04-06 06:46:10 +0000 UTCyoooo I was disappointed there was no Teen Wolf and then saw this and it was so worth it! This is one of my all time favorite shows...all the actors are really good.. I can't even get through the pilot reaction without getting all teary eyed...the nostalgia is hitting me hard.. BTW I can tell you exactly where you have seen the dad..he is Isaac's abusive father from Teen Wolf.. And Caitlyn is from Grimm and Sky High.. and Grant Gustin is such a likeable actor which is why he adds to the show and also is like a breath of fresh air(not bashing Arrow) when he appears every so often in Arrow.. We also appreciate the effort you are making in sticking to the order. David: I don't trust Harrison. Prove me wrong Harrison. Harrison gets up from his wheelchair. David: I don't think he will...(I died from laughter)

2021-04-06 03:11:18 +0000 UTCFlash, for the most part is a show with a lot of Heart (even in darker episodes). As for myself I have issues with both versions of the Flash (this one and from the films) as neither character feel anything at all like the character of Barry Allen. In Comics (at least the bulk of his 50 plus year history) is that of a dry, kind of boring guy. He was always, the more serious guy surrounded by friends who were the outgoing ones (Hal Jordan, Green Lantern and Ralph Disney, the Elongated Man). OF course those were comics, and these are different. But never the less I love this version of the character.

2021-04-06 03:10:13 +0000 UTCThe Flash tone and setting is definitely lighter on the feet......the acting is slightly better than arrow in my opinion, oh and the year this 2014

2021-04-06 03:06:49 +0000 UTCYESSSS!!! We are finally here! This is my personal favorite show in the Arrowverse and I hope you like it too. You might recognize Danelle Panabaker (Caitlin) from the movie Sky High, she also did a couple of Disney channel movies like Stuck in the Suburbs and Read It and Weep with her sister Kay. She was also in the Friday the 13th remake and The Crazies (underrated film, you should check it out.)
